This is not the first time that someone on the forum has wanted to go back to single line brakes. Why? Style above safety?

Eh? Single? I'm renewing like for like tandem circuit. You're mad you are.If it is sufficiently new to have needed IVA, a single line brake system will be blatantly illegal, and possibly uninsurable (You do have to declare it and explain that it has been done post IVA otherwise you are withholding a material fact, which can result in your insurance being null and void). Why you would want to fit one makes no sense at all.

They're hinges for a fold down windscreen, like on a series 1 landy

Looks good although I must say the tyres look like some I have on my garden tractor.Had to bite the bullet and swap the cars round. Putting 'Monty' yes monty ( sad, I know) in the garage. It looks massive in my single (ish) garage. It prompted me to measure the ride height. 13 inches! I like the look though, a right beast. Need to raise the back abit more!

Personally I mostly use Tungsten ones and have some Hss too.does any one know the difference between the different types of dies. I have just bust my M12 1.75 1 inch OD. looking at ones available they seem to be High carbon , tungsten or HSS - which is best?
I believe Tungsten is harder (harder wearing) and could cut thru Hss but need to be careful as would break easily.
Ben
Ps: Hss is a good all round general purpose one but dont know what the carbon ones are like...

HUBBA.HUBBA, I don't think I am mad. What you said was
One of the first jobs I need to do is put some new brake lines in.I want to declutter the engine bay and move away from the yellow label tandem cyinder and put a cleaner looking single master cylinder in.
The word "single" has a specific meaning when applied to master cylinders, however there is some slight ambiguity. But I am very glad that you are indeed not doing what some daft people on this and other forums have attempted, and presumably done.

Oh, and by the way, I am delighted that the AMC Cub is back in production, and updated to be IVA compatible, unlike the cloned Moke shells recently sold by a certain supplier which could never legally go on the road in the UK.
I hope that your project goes extremely well.

Even though the AMC cub started production again. I don't think there is any activity now. I get no response what so ever from emails/calls. So I have given up with him. Shame reallyOh, and by the way, I am delighted that the AMC Cub is back in production, and updated to be IVA compatible, unlike the cloned Moke shells recently sold by a certain supplier which could never legally go on the road in the UK.
