Overdue update.

The new 1330cc engine is in. It is sitting on the original but refurbished gearbox which now has an x-pin diff. I cleaned up and put back the old cylinder head. Happy with the valve size!

Got the Weber refurbished as well and fitted to a longer manifold.

Fitted HiLos and new red spot cones to the front suspension.

As the new engine is A+ I couldn't refit the old distributor. So I went for the SC ignition management system with a TPS on the Weber. Thinking being that this would be a good future proofing for engine changes going forward.

Everything was back together and rolling road tuned for the MK1 Action Day at Blyton Park where I met a new friend!

and my co-driver tried out his smart new video camera before disappearing to South Africa to film his pop star client!

Here we are at the MK1 action day at the start of May.

Everyone had a great time, especially as the young ones want to drive the car, until the gear lever lost the will to live mid afternoon!

This broke!

Need to get it welded back together,

Or I could try and fit this!

Everyone had a great time at the MK1 Action Day in 2023

Car went very well but two perennial problems persisted. The exhaust pipe kept slipping backwards in the exit hole and fouling the bodywork and an oil leak.which only happens when the car is being driven hard.

More to follow.
