Hi, just after a bit if advice realy;
( let's start of by saying that I'm realy not keen on de-seamed look!)
Found a nice little pickup, but someone has de- seamed the wing/ a-panel /windscreen pillar and along the bottom full length of the mini.
The pickup will be a big project anyway, but should I try to get this corrected and how difficult would it be to try to put it back again?
Obviously the section where the wing/ a panel meet would be more straight forward, but I'm more worried about the pillars etc
Has anyone any experiance/ advice on this sort of thing?
Thanks in advance guys!

Was it a recent purchase, I think I saw it on ebay?
I'm yet to see a good deseam job, that includes the ones I've been shown after saying it previously!

Yes silver south African import one off eBay
One with black stripes on bonnet
Don't quite know if I have brought it yet! Seller is keeping me dangling- even though we agreed a price, and I offered to send a deposit over straight away- starting to p**s me off a bit now to be honest. Well, we'll see how it goes!
Thanks, appreciate the help

Thanks for the help guys but I now don't need to know how to re-seem a de- seem. What is it with eBay and complete time- wasting idiots who deliberately mess you about all night and day???
I asked the guy how much he wanted for th car at about 10 pm new years eve.
He told me a price. I agreed I am willing to pay that.
He then says " loads of interest in car" can you leave deposit, otherwise someone else is willing to pay same ( about 11:45)
I ask him how much deposit
He then says 500
I ask him for bank details
I stay up till 2 am waiting for him to send them over
He messages me " when do you want to pay?"
I say I'm ready now
No answer so I say I will do it in morning - cant sit at computer all hours
He then ignores all my messages in morning
Lunch time: ( sorry someone else is buying now )
Pissed off now- " right if it falls through let me know as I genuinely wanted this car"
Few hours ago he says " that guys a total time waster, cars yours for agreed price if you want"
So I said yes fine, but I'm going to send deposit over now to secure it right.
He replied " no problem, cars ready
So I asked him for details for me to send deposit over
No answer
No answer
By now he's realy starting to wind me up, so I asked him if he's still selling me the car
No answer
" can you let me know are you selling me car or not"
His reply: " actually think I might keep it and do it up myself now, bud"
Why do people think its ok to mess people around like this?? I called the delivery guy up, got a quote for collection, found out a day he could fit me in- ( basically wasted his time) I stayed up until the early hours to buy the car, and what's more, I was bidding on another car ( what ended this evening) and I sacrificed this car in order to buy his mini pickup, which he isn't selling me now. And not even a " sorry for messing you about" and to cap it all off the other car i Was bidding for sold for £200 under my budget !
What is it with some people ????
( that's my rant over!)

I think from your original post you have concerns about that deseam anyway, as I said in another thread I am still to see one done well, those that claim to have gone quiet and still haven't posted pics when challenged. Hang fire and wait for a better one to come along, even if it costs a bit more it will be cheaper than trying to put the seam back on that one.

If you take a look at the other de-seaming/re-seaming thread currently running you will see a photo of the 998 Cooper with the 970 'S' running gear which I re-seamed several years ago. I also posted details of how I re-seamed it and it is still a strong and solid rally car in the hands of its current owner.

Here is the photo again:

I love the de seamed look, really suits the mini. I'm building a Lotus Twin Cam mini and the shell I have for that has been fully de seamed, so bumper lips, roof gutter and side strips. Looks lovely, but would be a nightmare to re seam though, so if you're not a fan of the de seamed look then I'd say stay away. Yours looks great though Cooperman
