I've just completed a 50 mile test drive in 5his mini.
Everything is as expected and no issues to report.
So this is basically the end if this cars restoration now.
Ready to just be enjoyed.
Cheers

Looks fantastic Ben!
Cheers. It's nice to have it finished after the delays with the engine. Mind you, it's going to seem strange without it here!

I picked up the Mini last week from Bens, on one of the hottest days of the year, the car performed well until we got on the ferry when the electrical gremlins stopped hazard, indicators, horn, and wipers/washers working. I had a quick look at the fuses and all seemed fine, so decided to drive the car home with my wife following in our main car. The car performed well and the engine was so smooth however it got a little warm in traffic (temp gauge stayed in the normal but crept up to the higher end of the gauge).
Since getting it home I have put the refurbished seats back in, fitted new black/silver number plates/new chrome mirrors, tidied up the mismatch of switches, made new speaker board and installed new rear speakers and wired for a engine fan (manual control) for the very hot days. All the previous electrical issues seem fine now after me checking all the multi pin plugs on the steering column?
Here's a few photos
Once the new fan turns up from minispares that should be everything completed, the car looks stunning thanks to Bens excellent work, the last photo was taken the day before we left the island after a great stay, thanks again Ben for the outstanding work and sorting out all the problems.

Wonderful.
I'm glad the electrical issue resolved themselves.
The seats, mirrors and plates really do finish it off lovely.

The electrical gremlins returned and I have now traced it to the fusebox, I have removed it cleaned all connections and re-instated it, so now all is well.
I have replaced the cooling fan (making sure it was the right way round) as it had some battle scars, fitted the minispares electrical fan so all is good with the cooling.
The problem with the brake pedal travel changing and front brakes sticking has been solved with the replacement of the Master Cylinder and brake limiter Valve.
I have replaced some of the hoses with copper in order to tidy them up a bit.
The engine is running sweet and I am looking forward to attending the Isle of Wight adventure organised by West Country Minis in a couple of weeks time.

I do use every opportunity to drive it, and it never fails to put a smile on my face.

Glad you are happy with the engine bill richards
Even though I am taking easy ( I have done about 400 miles) the engine is so much smoother and free revving, I am looking forward to when I can rev it a bit higher.
What is the recommended running in mileage?
