It looks like a pretty stupid question in the title, but it's a real one.

If I sandblast the interior of the Mini, but the underside is fully painted and finished, will the sandblasting create enough heat to damage the paint below?

I will not use any industrial grade sandblasting machine, just a small one.

Thanks

I wouldn't sandblast it. You will never get rid of it and will get trapped in seams etc get stuck. What is it your trying to achieve ther may be better ways

I thought about sandblasting because currently the car has all kinds of primers on it and still have dirt and gunk in places that I can't reach. I think going to bare metal would be the best to start off the new paint, is it?

(not up to date pic, but you get the idea)

Sand is not the right stuff anyway. Severe health risk, silicosis. But abrasive blasting with a more suitable media will most likely do no harm to the underside paint. There should not be a serious local temperature rise.

Talk to the company who will be doing the blasting, to see what media they advise.

Glass beads will keep the heat down so long as you keep the gun moving.  its when you focus on one spot waiting to see bare metal that the heat really ramps up.  Keep it moving and you should be fine.  Avoid sand as it will do nasty nasty things to your lungs.

Soda blasting media would be perfect for this application. It's very gentle blasting and will limit heat and distortion to virtually nothing if used correctly
