Hello,

I'm getting a little confused about which are which.

I currently have 10" alloys on a S brake set up with no arches but i'm wanting to swap to steels with the chrome caps.

If i get the reverse rims am i right in thinking they will stick out from the body work? If i get standard S rims they should fit under and keep everyone happy?

Could someone post photos of both for me and show me the difference? I've done a search but people seem to be confused themselves when they say Cooper S wheels.

Thanks,

Michael

Hi

I'm not on a PC to post pictures, but at the top of my ownership thread are some pictures of the Cooper S steels (not reverse but with brake discs) sold by MiniSport.

The reverse steel wheels will sit outside of the wheel arch if you have brake discs. And will sit flush if you have drums all round.

Not the best picture but here's some reverse rims, arch less, on 145 tyres, cooper s brakes. The sidewalk stuck out like 5mm if that, and you can easily get away with being arch less.

Here's a google image picture of regular Cooper S rims. Not sure on the brakes, but they are well under the arches

There are two different Cooper S wheel sizes:

3.5 x 10 - LP882

4.5 x 10 - LP883

Both of these had the nine circular holes around the wheel.

The reverse offset wheels (LP918) are the same basic wheels as the 4.5 x 10 Cooper S wheels but had the inner section welded in backwards. They stick out about an inch further than the standard Cooper S wheels.

Reverse rim 4.5" wheels were originally made so that a 4.5" wheel could be fitted to 850 and 998 Cooper models without the need for spacers

Are you able to get hubs to fit these wheels?

The 'S' normal 10" wheels will only fit onto 'S' hubs and drums. The reverse 4.5" wheels will fit drum brakes and 997/998 Cooper 7" discs and hubs, but if fitted to 'S' hubs & drums will stick out and arch extensions will be needed.

They have the small tabs so yes. You can always give them a quick call.
