Hi
Bit stuck on the wheel nut torque for alloys on 92 Mayfair. The Haynes manual just gives one setting of 45 ft lbs is this for the standard steels and standard alloys? Wheels fitted are as above with standard alloy taper nuts.
Thanks.

I seem to recall the Rover manual gives a figure of 42 ft/lb.
I'll check to be sure.

60 Nm (44 ft/lb).
The older manuals quote a figure of 42 ft/lb.

Apologise to be all over the shop on this one.
I've just checked in the 78 - 89 Rover Factory Workshop manual.
It quotes a figure of 63 Nm for Steel Wheels (45 ft/lb)
However
It also quotes a figure of 50 Nm (37 ft/lb) for Alloy Wheels

Yeah in my AUTODATA book it states 37lbs torque,I broke 2 studs when I fitted my 5x12 minilites.
That was with a ratchet, I then torqued em to 35 with a t/wrench,no problem,I check em weekly, all ok.
I would never let a garage use a air gun on them.
I've edited this post to 37lbs torque (did'nt have me specs on when I read it quick sorry)....so 37Ibs....5.1of them NM things
