I have bought a period corbeau low back seat and mounted it on my cobra subframe but It is the old style non locking type, has anyone converted these old frames to lock?

I did think about cutting the locking parts off off the original seats but I'm not sure if I really want to do this though.

depends on what base you are on about.

the ones we have back in the 80/90 we removed the feet (threaded) drilled some holes in some flat bar and solidly mounted them to the floor.

A couple of brackets and a spring loaded rod in a tube or even a long threaded bolt with a big knob on the end. All it needs to do is pass under the original hoop. Thats all the hooks on the originals do. And to be honest they are not that strong.

My original Rover ones never lock anyway, the hook always gets bent to one side, lol.
