Hello it's been years since posting, and working on my mini. Anyway I bought an rc40 rear muffler 3 years ago and now I'm trying to fit it with the kit from mini spares but the rear triangular hanger that attaches to the rear of the subframe is not hanging low enough to be able to get the u bolt on it and the exhaust any help please. It's a 64 Austin mini and it's the last big thing that needs to be done before I can finally drive it.

Pictures showing where you are as it is a known working solution so at a guess you have something wrong.

I'll get a picture of it tomorrow hopefully when it's easier to see.
This is the muffler I have http://www.minispare...px|Back to shop

With the fitting kit. The end seems to be hitting on the rear valance and the u bolts won't go around the hanger and the pipe. I'm sure the hanger is attached to the sub frame correctly.

Sorry about the bad pictures, it's kind of hard to get a camera into that space. But hopefully you get what's happened. From what I can tell it looks like the rear hanger is not low enough, and does not line up with the cut out in the rear valance.

That's what I thought, I'm thinking cut it to make the exhaust fit, it's not really going to be seen.

The hanger on the very back of the subframe looks wrong, my RC40 system used one that hung alot lower. Think Ive still got it if you want it?

EDIT: For my RC40 single box system, this was the one on the back of the subframe:

And this is what I had on the front

That's the hanger that came in the kit, and looks the exact same as the one in all the pictures I have seen.

handbrake looks like the cable securing plates are missing, as for the exhaust you could always make a couple of drop links to lover the bracket 1/2 inch

I think I would be modding the rear valance yo get it right rather than dropping the bracket.
