Mini Spares part number AEW2136-003

They are the ones I was hoping to buy, but they are out of stock.

AEW2136 is the standard manf part no so try other well known suppliers like Moss Europe, etc. Just make sure you order the right thickness .. the -003 suffix.

I just measured a set of thrust bearings and each side is 0.003" thicker, so 2 pairs of 0.004" thrusts reduce the end float by 0.006".

Is there a typo there Peter?

Sorry. If 2 pairs of +0.003" thrusts are fitted the end float is reduced by 0.006".

Right got some +0.003 today and put them in sides and got 0.19685039 with a rough converted from mmm

So now sand with a bit of wet and dry to bring in to tolerance?

I also but obe side standard and one 0.003 and got below around 0.005.

I just measured a set of thrust bearings and each side is 0.003" thicker, so 2 pairs of 0.004" thrusts reduce the end float by 0.006".

What brand are those?

It could open up a few more doors for adjusting end float, as those that I use (and all I've known of until now) give 0.003 in total.

So, with these and mix & matching with other sets, that could give us;-

0.0015, 0.003, 0.0045 and 0.006, after which we have the + 0.030" that we can grind in to what ever we want.

Actually, just on that, have you a set of +0.030"'s in the same brand that you could measure? I know in ACLs they only give a total of 30 thou, but just wondering if those you use give a total of 60?

Oh and while looking for something else last night, I also stumbled across Mahle's advice on Crank end float;-

might be some food for thought?

They are the standard +003 which I got from Mini Spares

I don't have any at +030 and I am not at home at the moment. However I think the +030 are 030 each side.8

Hey, no rush!  When you have time to spare :proud:

OK, maybe if you could have a look at the brand of those you measured as they seem to have Glacier, Vandervell and ACL brands I just noticed.

I know the +0.030 that ACL offer are the same as those used by the factory on the change over between the Cooper S Block and the 1300 style blocks, when they fitted the Cooper S Crank to the Solid Cover blocks.

Slightly off track but still on topic.  I find it unusual that the standard size of these crank thrust washers is hardly ever recited as a measurable amount. ( I don't have my books in front of me atm, but i can't recall seeing a plain old measurement for the single or the pair.  ( Getting back to what Cooperman and Moke spider are comparing, it makes me wonder if the 'original' thing we are measuring is always the same. I do have a set of new standard ones that i use for dummy builds, and i have measured, but can't recall the answer...... similarly with plus 3 or plus 30...... plussed to what!!!!    just an observation

Standard ACL Branded 1275 Crank Thrust (one only) I measure at 0.185".

This morning I looked in that draw while looking for something else and I saw on top I also had a set of +0.005" Thrusts from a manufacturer unknown. Even more choices, oh the joy,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
