Thanks for all this info gents, think the Eastwood is out of the equation. Still torn between the other two, on one hand the quality of the weld as Shifty says is probably better with the Portamig (Not ever having done any welding before it's a question I could not possibly answer myself) What is against the Portamig is it's physical size and problems with storage, if I had more room (Especially for storage when not in use) I would in al probably go for it.

 

The R-Tech on the other hand is small and light and would fit nicely under my small bench in the garage when not in use, reliability with the inverter maybe an issue but for what it will be doing surely it will be working at the very lowest end of it's potential capability it also carries a 2 year standard warranty with the option of extending that by a further 2 years. Apparently looking on the R-Tech site it says the machine uses Siemens IGBT's, not quite sure what that means though.
