So i have spent today putting the finishing touches to the Mini ready for it's MOT tomorrow at 4pm

The passenger side harness is now fitted

And I have now found a suitable interior light so that is now fitted

Been doing lots of little things like filling the washer bottle, adjusting the handbrake and also re-bled the brakes as the system has settled and been used which showed up a slightly spongy pedal.

I also re-checked the steering geometry after settling the suspension etc and it was slightly out so that's all been re-adjusted.

So by the end of tomorrow, it will have a new MOT and all that will remain to do is fit the chrome edging along the sills and arches, finish waxing up the underside/cavities, fit the sump guard and then valet.

Cheers

Ben

Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like you've put the harnesss over the harness bar and into the rear seatbelt fixing?

They should be attached to to harness bar

They should be attached to to harness bar

These ones have couplings that hook onto eye bolts that screw into the seatbelt mounts

I believe that the harnesses that attach to the harness are different to these.

I am happy to be told otherwise if this is incorrect but it made sense to fit them this way.

Cheers

Ben

Well spotted mini geek, with my Omp harnesses they came fitted with the rear eye bolts, removing the clip allows the eyebolt to be unthreaded, which allowed me to fit them to my harness bar by wrapping the loop of the belt around the specific loops of the bar.

Why else would you have a harness bar?

Looking great by the way!

Fair enough

It's something that can be changed easily enough.

Thanks

Hi Ben, luvin' the interior light.  :D

Shame you didn't buy a few more, it would make great under glow.

Hi Ben

based on progress today, do you think we'll be OK to pick the mini on Friday, perhaps I should wait until you have the MOT before I book the ferry just in case there is a problem, which I know there won't be, because you have done a fantastic job.

Thanks

Darren

PS any progress with the midget quote

Hi Darren.

literally, all i am waiting on is the chrome edging to finish the car. everything depends on that. I believe Nuala sent you an email today about that.

Steve has already gone over the car and is happy with everything so it will pass no problem. It's just a formality :-)

Midget quote is worked out. I'm just waiting for it to be typed up. you will have that before friday incase you wanted to drop it down when you collect the Mini.

cheers

Ben

Ok, so the MOT is done and dusted.

I took the Mini out today for it's first test drive and all is well.

I didn't have time to go far but tomorrow, ill see if i can get a bit further afield and get some nice scenic photos of it to share.

Cheers

Ben
