Hi Ben,

Crazy how?

Crazy fun!  :D

As has been said, the hoses are good and the thread you referred to is to do with n MOT in another country so does not apply here.

As for the door cards, if they do end up taking as long as they say to deliver, then you can of course take the car without them and we can forward them on to you.

It would be a shame to let the car go unfinished but it would be entirely up to you.

Cheers

Ben

Lots has been been happening the past few days.

The dash is finished

Which now makes the interior more or less complete. Just the door trims and a harness i think

The bonnet is also fitted which completes the outside

I just need to set up the tracking, castor and camber and then it can go for it's MOT.

I also have the sump guard which ill fit when i can get on the ramp next.

Cheers

Ben

I'm a massive fan of the colour.

When i first painted the door frames and skins, i thought, oh it's quite green but it really is lovely.

Cheers

That is a great looking mini - nice and understated, but you know it means business. Especially loving the center switch panel, I'll deffo be trying to copy that idea one day!
Are you going to fit a wheel arch / cill trim?

Hi Ben,

The car looks great with the bonnet on and the dash finished off

carthorse raised a good question about the sill trim, I can't remember if we said anything but we would like the chrome trim

Thanks

Darren

We had spoke about the sill and arch trim and i believe you decided against it but i am happy to order and fit them if you would like.

I have e-mailed you this afternoon about that.

Cheers

Ben

No pictures today as the car looks no different to yesterday but things have been happening.

Darren and Jack decided to run waterless coolant so before it can go in, a prep fluid needs to go in and run up to temperature to flush and nasties out of the system.

This took a good while due to air in the system which wouldn't allow enough fluid in and it wouldn't circulate properly  so i bled the system from the heater matrix hose using a pressure tester which solved the problem.

I ran it until the electric fan cut in and then switched off and then had to wait for the system to cool completely before draining.

I wanted to get all of the prep fluid out so i used the pressure tester to pump the fluid out.

The waterless coolant is now in so that's another thing done.

I also plumbed in the oil pressure gauge and fitted the door bars for the roll cage.

Thursday, I shall be setting the castor, camber and tracking and then it should be ready for it's MOT.

Cheers

Ben

Hi Ben,

yes please do order the chrome trim, I think I must have misunderstood, if we had a conversation previously, as I thought we had said didn't want wheel arches but did want the trim. I've replied to your email

Thanks

Darren
