The roof is Rover Paul Smith Black
It sounds like one of those old M&S adverts
"The roof is not just black, it's Rover Paul Smith black"
We thought we would keep things Austin/Rover/Morris

It needs to be used and enjoyed.
If it get's damaged or scratched, then it can be sorted out easily enough
I really hope that Darren and Jack do enjoy the car when finished.
Cheers
Ben
Hi Ben, we will definitely enjoy it

So the rebuild begins.
first job was to run the fuel and brake lines and the battery live cable.
There was a small problem with the brake line kit that was supplied.
The main front to rear one was too short.
Never mind, we had a coil of copper pipe in stock so i made my own
With them installed, i fitted the steering rack
And the rear subframe
Then i hooked up the rear brake lines
Then fitted the radius arms and suspension
Next up, i fitted the rear loom
And then the front subframe
That's it for today.
Cheers
Ben

Hi Ben,
Are you a man or a machine? I won't tell you how long Jack and I spent trying to fit the rear subframe
The build is looking fantastic

ha ha.
Had a slight issue with the rear trunnions as you pointed out at the beginning but a bot of adjustment had them fitting well.

More steady progress today.
I did spend quite a lot of time cleaning up parts and giving them a coat of paint but besides that, i got the handbrake fitted and the cable routed
I got the front loom installed
And the pedal box assembled and fitted
It's starting to come together now
And Darren, look what came in today..
I had planned to get the tank installed but after going to fit the n/s/r lamp, i noticed that the rubber seal has some splits and cracks so ill have to order some new ones before i can continue with that.
Tomorrow, ill see if i can get the interior finished.
Oh and Darren, Colin wants to get the engine painted so do you want it all green like this
so that would be engine, head, flywheel housing and gearbox
Or do you want it part green like this
So just the engine block and head.
Cheers
Ben

Hi Ben, Just engine block and head green please, with gearbox and flywheel housing silver and the rocker cover as it is.
or perhaps it should be red to give us an extra 10hp - only joking

Like the 1500 midget, I had a P reg pageant blue 1500 midget in '89 - I loved that car
My 1275 midget needs some TLC and then it'll be great

Hi Ben,
if any of the kit I bought isn't up to scratch, in your opinion please let me know and I'll get it changed, for example are the minifins OK they weren't the the most expensive but equally they were from one of the bigger mini suppliers so hopefully not cheap rubbish
by the way the protech shocks look good
Also interested to know if the hand brake quadrants were OK
Thanks
Darren
