Hi all,

i've looked through this section, to try and find a post with a definitive list of colours available for a 1974 gt, but cant find one? i'm looking at painting mine an 'off white/old english white' kind of colour if they ever did them in such a colour? I want to make sure i get correct age related version of the white from that time.

if so, does anyone have the code and/or a photo example of how it looks?

the two ive seen are old english white WT3 or Leyland/Ermine white NME BLVC243, but nowhere to confirm either of these were used on GT's.

Many thanks in advance,

Dossy.

The Haynes mini restoration manual gives paint colours and also trim info.

From what I can make out Glacier white (BLVC59) with black seats, carpets and door seals

Or Triumph white (BLVC206) with sorrel striped seats, chestnut carpets and black door seals

These are listed in the minis from September 1969 section, and listed for 1275GTs, don't know how accurate this is though because it doesn't list my colour

thanks for that! i stumbled across that website the other day, and theres loads of useful info on it about what it should and shouldn't have depending on age.... however....

the section on paint lists Leyland BLVC243 and White BLVC206, then, on the next photo it lists what trim colours went with each colour, and neither of those whites are listed! instead there is another - Glacier White BLVC59 instead!

confusing!!

glacier white 59 and 'Triumph' (Leyland) 206 white are listed on the website above, in different sections... and it is the colour im looking at, however i want the all black interior so i might have to mix and match a bit.

You're confused?.... so it's not just me!

Yup, i also noticed that anomaly. -Not the only one where paint colour/years is concerned.

From looking at various sites (all with conflicting info) it looks like BVLC 243 Leyland White (also known as Ermine White or Porcelain White) & BLVC 206 New White (poss later version of Glacier white?) were both introduced circa 1977/78.

BLVC 59 Glacier White seems to have been used 1970-77

I think the best way forward would be to join the GT Register.

That'll be 3 of us confused. To be honest I don't think British Leyland had a clue what was going on either

well, i don't actually have a genuine 1275gt, its a standard Clubman, but i wanted to do a semi-replica and at least get as much of it correct as i can. however now i'm thinking i will just pick the best bits of each to make what i actually want, which is the genuine off white paint colour with genuine all black interior, even though it appears those things were never actually on a car together originally!
