Sounds like 'snake oil' to me. Normal good quality 20w50 mineral is all you ever need with no additives. Change it every 2000 to 2500 miles.

Why what problems are you trying to hide?

Its handy for worn engines, will increase oil pressure and reduce crank knock.

I used it in a well worn Cavalier diesel, and it did no harm at all. However, that did not share the engine oil with the gearbox, unlike the Mini.

I also ruined an A+ engine by using an additive called, I think, Slick 50. It contained PTFE, which may have broken down into hydrofluoric acid as it made the plating on the bearing shells peel off, so the crankshaft was badly grooved. The inside of the gearbox casing was as clean as the day it left the factory, if not cleaner, as all the usual deposits were dissolved.

Best to avoid all additives unless they are being used for a specific purpose for which they are known to actually work. Many of them were invented when oil was of relatively poor quality by today's standards. They are much less necessary now.

That should be ok, but it is more usual to use 20w40. Having said that, I often used 20w50 in what I now know to be the mistaken belief that higher viscosity is good. It is not as simple as that...

Stick with it till at least the next oil change.

20W50! Or you thinking 10W40 tiger99?

20W40 is motorcycle oil.

So will a new set of rings and bearings!

Let's not over-complicate this. All a classic Mini needs is a good quality 20w50 oil with a high zddp level. Valvoline VR1 is excellent as are several others. Change oil even 2000 to 2500 miles and all will be fine.
