What is the benefit of stainless braided fuel hose?

Does it help with heat?

do you mean braided hose ??

IMHO one problem is , it hides the condition of the rubber underneath

but it looks shiny

as for heat - the braid is close to the rubber , so heat will be transmitted to the rubber / fuel

all just my opinion

Ok.

Where is it?

As mentioned it hides the condition of the hose.

If in the cabin it is recommended as it protects from cuts.

You can have the ends crimped on for that Pro look.

The main thing to be aware of is what the actual fuel line is made from.

Will it degrade? If so what is its life?

It is for the engine bay.

Will run from the lines on the bulk head around the head to the fuel rail at the front.

My concern was really that it runs across the top of the manifold. not close too close though

It looks sh!t hot!

I gotta say, I'm not a fan of it as the condition of the hose itself can't be seen.

You are legally required to use proper fuel hose with the necessary markings applied at prescribed intervals along its length. Rubber fuel hose is printed accordingly.

Overbraid is a very bad idea as it covers the markings and makes you liable to MOT failure and/or a Construction and Use offence. Anyway it is naff. But there is no reason why proper braided fuel hose, somewhat like brake hose but with larger diameter and much lower pressure rating can not be used, provided it is properly certified and marked by the manufacturer, and used with the correct end fittings. Try the catalogues of some of the kit car suppliers. They have all of that stuff. If it is "IVA compliant" it will pass all scrutiny. If it is teflon (PTFE) internally, it will be immune to just about everything, but on no account let it near a hot manifold. The decomposition products are likely to be fatal.

It may have changed, but I didn't think any braided hoses existed that were compatible with the ethanol that's been finding its way in to pump fuel.

If you're worried about heat, there are sleevings that will do a better job.

I've had a number of new braided hoses on the GTs fail in very short time. I only fit them as that's what was originally on them, but next time, I'll use standard hose and try to slip the braid over it.
