Delphi stuff is known to be of good quality and reliability - except the injection pumps fitted to Ford Diesels from 2003 to 2007, but that's another matter.

I never knew that. Fortunately my Ford dates from about 2010 and does not have a Delphi pump.
I am more involved with new stuff, which is rather advanced, with phenomenal pressures involved. Common rail diesel injection at the prevailing pressure today is the sort of thing that really is as difficult as rocket science. An immense amount of development and testing goes into making it reliable. Hopefully there will be no more troublesome pumps, in fact there will be no pumps, as such....

I work for a major construction equipment manufacturer and we use a lot of delphi parts.
rightly or wrongly when buying mini parts I've largely avoided mainstream parts suppliers assuming that for small volume mini parts they will selling the junk we are all trying to avoid! I will certainly be shopping around a bit more from now on!

I know this is a late reply however i thought it was worth posting.
I got a rear subframe fully built up when i was restoring my mini and took it to bits to repaint (2013ish)
Tidying the garage the other day i noted that both radius arms have knuckle joints with rubbers in good condition,
On inspection and cleaning, the knuckle joints are of good condition and even taking into account de-rusting the mild steel shank its still worth my time as the ball part is perfectly machined and the rubber none degraded at all!
They have now been de-rusted, dusted with wd40 and boxed up for a rainy day!
minispares list new genuine at £15 however actively encourage"Save money with this non-genuine version of this product"
£3.24 will get you an unknown branded part that will last an unknown amount of time.
Now im a student and even i have come to the conclusion that its no longer worth my time to but these!
Now im currently keeping an eye out for some nos ball joints!

Cheers for the comparison 1984, I'm doing a trial on my car using brake slave cylinder rubbers as ball joint dust covers on the near side front for my car. With a bit of trimming they fit nicely and my theory was that the rubber has to be good quality to resist the harsh brake fluid environment. Time will tell
How did this go?

Slight hijacking of this topic, but the praise of Delphi products got my attention.
I'm in need of steering rack gaiters (I forget the dimensions, the different sized pair). Would anyone know a Delphi part number that fits, or somewhere where I can find a dimension and part number list?

If you email Delphi they are more than happy to tell you of local stockists.
All Parts Automotive stock them and I had no troubles getting Delphi knuckle joints and track rod ends from them.

Didn't go too bad in all honesty. Lasted about 4 month on my car until I took them off and replaced with nos bjs. The fit was pretty good too and they hadn't degraded over time at all. The rubber is thinner so I'm unsure how well it would protect the joint in the long time. Hope that helps. L
I feel I am missing something... what is nos bjs?
