I know this has been covered before; but I have quite a specific question.

I currently have a Twin Box Mini Sport Superflow system and fits terrible (it was on the car when I brought it, not personal choice). It also too quiet for my liking; but I don’t want loads of noise. I’ve had a single box, large bore, side exit RC40 before and that was slightly too loud for me. Is there anything in between? Maniflow Twin Box? RC40 options?

Dave.

I also would go twin box RC40. Well proven performance record

Twin box RC40 is excellent. The Maniflow twin box which uses a cherry-bomb as the centre box is slightly better made (and more costly), but it is slightly noisier. I use RC40 with skid plates welded on for rallying where excessive noise means not being allowed to start an event.

This one + the downpipe?
Is there a big difference with a centre exhaust single silencer system? U was looking at maniflow but they are twice the price!
I got a 544 cam in a big bore and really want to quiten it a bit. I also need to pass the same noise regulations in july and dont know if the Maniflow is silent enough.

Thanks!

When new the Maniflow with twin box and a cherry-bomb as the second box was quite quiet to begin with and I was a few decibels inside the limit on the first couple of events. Then after about 3 rallies I was right on the limit, so I fitted an RC40 system with additional skid plates and under-plating and it was much quieter and it lasted a long time within the strict limits.

Both systems are good in terms of power, unlike some of the stupid big bore or twin tail pipe systems which reduce the power/torque.

Rc40 twin box gets my vote, even though the single box gets my first vote.

I went from RC40 back box to a full Maniflow system. It's slightly louder but not crazily so. I love the note it gives.

Single box rc40 system sounds great, I have the large bore side exit box. Grumbles and pops and fairly loud!

Cheers for all the replies.

It sounds like what I’m really after is the system that costs the money, the twin box Maniflow on the basis that it’s slightly louder than the twin box RC40 but not as loud as any single box system.

A need a little help deciding between these two single box, centre exit systems for a 1275 HIF44, if anyone can help?

Minispares:

Maniflow:

Price wise, there's not really much in it but I just don't want anything ridiculously noisy. Neither kits appear to be available in a twin box system but I do like the larger tailpipe of the minispares, RC40 exhaust.

Even if the centre exit was available as a twin box it would be louder.
