After a bit more research I found out that the standard throttle body bore is 45mm (so bit more of a mod to my inlet plenum). Also looks like this is a Jenvey throttle body!

Who finds stuff like this in a skip! haha.
Hope this works out and would be interesting to see how your engine responds.

When it comes to skips at my work, there are two types of people.
1. I didn't pay for it and it's no use to me.
2. What idiot would throw that in a skip. I could use that.

No prizes for guessing which type I am!

It was on an engine we used to run on a dyno. A member of staff was asked to strip all the accessories off the engine so that we could keep it for spares.
There was an Omex 600 ECU but that has disappeared.
Too many people at my work without a clue!

First of all a massive thanks to whoever worked out a way round this fiasco with photobucket. I'm starting to use flickr.

I haven't been up to much on the mini as I've been signing myself in Minorca. I have also just changed jobs so no longer working at the University with access to all that equipment. There is a plus side as the new job also has loads of equipment as we develop and make pumps.

So here is a picture of where I am with the clock binnacle.

https://flic.kr/p/WPMT52

It still needs a bit of work. The indicator lights, high beam and handbrake lights need to be added as the ones on the Micra dash are now obscured. I will fit some LED ones in roughly the same position as the mini binacle.
Looking forward to trying hydro dipping the dash in burr walnut!

That's exactly the look I am going for! Anyway most of the work on the mini is shelved for a couple of days until I get some tidying up done. I can hardly move in the garage and it makes trying to do anything almost impossible. And I also can't find a lot of things.

I'm using flikr. I can upload from my phone when I take the pics. Then use my laptop to make the post from. Have to add the photos into an album tho to then be able to access the code to upload them. Its easier to use compared to photo bucket however there no information given to you regarding how long left to upload etc.

Ok. Looks like the pc for adding photos. Damn your greed photobucket!

I got bored tidying up so had a look at the position of my engine. It's still too far back on the passenger side as the clearance on the dif to steering rack is about 3mm. This might mean taking the front engine mount out and getting in there with a file or the dremel.
It's going to take a good few hours until I am happy with the position and it's my own fault for making everything too tight.

After a couple of nights moving the engine about on it's mountings I am happyish with the position and the clearances.

I should have allowed more clearance when building the frame but that's all hindsight!

It's tight in the usual places plus a few of my own making -

Dif to Stearing Rack - about 8mm

Water Pump to Subframe tower - about 7mm

Exhaust manifold to Subframe cross member - about 10mm

5th Gear cover screws to Subframe side rail - about 7mm

Alternator to just about every panel in the area - 10mm

So as long as these Land Rover type engine mounts hold the engine in position so that it does not move more than 7mm, I should be OK.

This one is the back of the dif.  I could shave a couple of mm off the casting but I'll see how it goes as it is.

Having an extra mount down by the oil filter should also help reduce any movement.

I won't get a lot of time to work on it this weekend so the limited list of jobs is -

CV boot band

Exhaust

Gear linkage refit

I also need to paint my master cylinder and my heater hose bulkhead fitting.  These will get done in 2K gloss silver.
