Someone had problems, on here, with a 'low mileage' engine they bought off M&M's. >_<  Personally I've not had any real problems with the company, apart from waiting too long for braided brake pipes. >_<

They have bought quite a few bits of me and seem decent to deal with

They ripped me off quite badly.
Bought a good to use direct 1275 crank from them, first they sent me a 998 crank, then they sent me a badly scored worn crank. Ignored me when I pointed that out. There s been a few people having problems with them too.

Not used them for ages, but have bought some used bits and pieces off them in the past - but always in person over the counter so I could see what I was getting. Got a good deal on a set of 10 x 6 GB alloys a few years back.

I bought a second hand front hub off them a while ago and they sent me a metro one. They had no problem replacing it and didn't want the metro one back.

Brought parts off me in the past. Always paid asking price plus delivery.

Had loads of problems with this company and wouldn't touch them with a barge pole again. Deliveries sent to wrong house twice, broken parts sent out as usable, bent parts to get them in a box and never return calls!

Was given the run around by them on one of my old minis I had for sale. Was offered a deal on an old police mini van as part of the deal but was never able to get details or close the sale.
Possibly just very busy as he told me he was involved with charity work as well as his business.

Parts I've bought have been fine and in general they seemed 'OK'.

Iv bought a few items from them over the past couple of months, got some reasonable deals off the fella behind the counter...

I do wish that waould sell me the stuff that I ask for instead of telling me what I need to buy instead... I know what I want to buy FFS

Anyhoo, Iv been sorting my nephews Mini out for him for its MoT the past week, and bought a couple of service items off them... no problem there except for a couple of items that was wrong/wouldnt fit in a million years... took back the wrong parts and no quibbles about changing the parts for the correct type, except for one item... Im still waiting for them to either phone me (they have my number) or send the parts on (which they promised they would).... I had to ring them to find out where the parts was only for them to say that their courier had let them down, even though they said that their courier is the best in the country....

I'll chase them again on Monday, problem is - I dont let go once Iv got the bit between my teeth and I'll most likely have to pay them another visit... unfortunately...

I've only used them once. The part broke after a few weeks and after refusing all liability for ages they finally told me to send it back to them for a replacement.

I never heard from them again.

It was only a cheap part and after they'd dragged it out so long, I couldn't be bothered to keep on at them. I just made sure I havnt used them since.

to be honest they are my last resort or if the scrappy isn't open Sunday....

When Iv been in, the fella behind the counter, I presume the boss/owner, is almost always on the phone or just seems to be preoccupied. Seems to be quite ignorant and rude to me...

Iv been having a bit of a Google search about them and found 1 thread on Pistonheads where someone had a problem with an engine that was supplied, and someone from M&Ms got onto the forum to say they have recently been bought out and are under new management..... no they're not and never have been...

Iv been to the place a few times, and not with my current Mini but with previous Mini's too, and its always been the same people that are there.... no new faces, except for the kid who's on the computer as you walk into the place who can't be bothered to even acknowledge your there....

Think I'll get onto them on Monday and see what happens.... might be a place to know about but avoid if at all possible...

Think I'll stick with Minispares in the future, and just order stuff and wait for them to arrive.....

I went years ago and he sold me some recon calipers, there were,nt recon just painted black, but i thought i would try him again
I went down about 3 months ago after emailing him,he said he had all the parts i wanted.
brake calipers, brake lines, brake master cylinder, hub nut, engine staedy bushes, some other bits,he said all parts were in.
turned up and he was closed, went next day and he had 1 item for me.not happy.
said the rh brake caliper was due next day and the bushings
went at end of week caliper wasnt there or bushings, due in monday next week.
went down the sunday after,no caliper just kept saying it was on way and bushing(there on there way)
went weekend after he was closed again
went the weekend after,no caliper.phoned company and said tomorrow promissed,no bushings,
went next week bought a recon master cylinder, which wasnt reconned just pulled straight off a car.
tried to sell me wrong hub nut, bought a few bits off him and there all complete crap
he doesnt listen to a word you say, doesnt give a s##t about service and his so called mechanics havnt got a clue about mini parts.
promissed to never use him again but was desperate for a set of q/r engine mounts, only had one
asked for a standard one and his mechanic was just randomly pulled bits out of a box and saying is this one..
asked about bushings(got a caliper from somewere else) and guess what
yes there on there way
will never ever use this poor, untrained, uninterested,i will ask you what you want and then ignore while i mess after moving boxes . Pathetic excuse for parts dealers again.

Not isolated to these guys, but with some of the UK dealers, it seems if (like Dusty and myself), you don't live in the UK or can't / haven't called at the counter, the service can be very poor. I haven't had any actually dealings with these guys, but did send an enquiry a few years back and that was well enough to put me off them.
