I suppose kio are a bit too big but we saw. A crow take a goldfish from our pond once.

+1 for Heron, we lost 75% of the koi in our last place inc ghost koi. Devious big beggars Heron!
Our cat was feart of both the Heron and the koi

Maybe someone has stole them? I know there is a pond in my town which use to have loads of koi but people kept stealing them for their own ponds.

What about otters? Looks like someone else in the area has had otters eat there fish.... But would otters eat them fully or leave bits on the side?

Sounds very much like a Heron has been helping itself to a big fish supper. One almost cleared out my boss's pond & he had £100s worth of fish. His solution to stop it happening again? A plastic Heron.

But I don't see how a heron would have took off through the gaps in the pergola with its size / wingspan... Need one of them night cameras.

Done a Google search and there's otters very close by in fact there's a otter tunnel about 1 mile away to stop them getting ran over on the new bypass....

I tried that, came home one day to find the real heron standing next to it! Guess it clocked it never moved

Heron, we had huge koi until it stabbed the lot of them trying to eat them. Put up a net around the pond, they only need a place to land and thats it, they will walk right up to the pond, under nets, anything they can to get to your fish.
