I'm using a ctec battery maintainer/conditioner. Just wondered if anyone knew any reason why it can not be used on a sealed race battery. Just gone to start my car and battery is dead, but the charger says its charged and all good. Been using it for a couple of months.

Should be ok if you have been using it on the AGM setting.

Put on AGM and recond and leave it for a day or so.

It is the composition of the battery. Please check yours is. It is a gel battery and needs charging differently to a wet battery. You might have cooked it though.

Does this look right? Last 3 lights on the mode on and so far first 4 lights in the cycle on.

Absorbed Glass Mat is what the battery makers tend to call it but the manufacturers of the raw material call it Absorbent Glass Matt.

I have been using c tecs on red tops for over ten years now without any problems. Mind you I have also used normal chargers on our old batteries (we retire them after two seasons as they are used for power in our electric cars) and every single battery we have used is still going. I have one of the first sat in my garage as a back up spare and they are brilliant, it's only ever seen a crappy b&d charger in the last four years and still works fine.
