I think a set of those in 165/70 will be going on my S sometime soon. My Yokos can then go on my 1990 Cooper which will be having 10" wheels.

They look great and looks like they will cost a whole lot less than similar classic Dunlop R7s. I might have to get a set for my Export when it´s finally roadworthy.

The 145 version is now in stock, some good early reviews on Mk1 forum:-

Seriously considering a set of these for my 1300 Cooper Export when the time comes. Anyone using them on here? The few reports on the Mk1 forum seem positive.

I hope to get the Berkeley T60 (Mini engine etc) on the road this year and the Blockley 145/10's on my Cosmic alloys are looking the favourite choice at the moment. One reviewer noted that the 145's had a slightly stiffer side wall which would work for me, but I haven't ruled out the 165's just yet but I am thinking that they would be more susceptible to aquaplaning in the wet and have a higher air resistance.

Definitely interested

Would the Blockley's be in keeping (look period correct) on a mk3 cooper S or are they more Mk1 & 2 territory?

I would think so. My Inno was shod with Dunlop Sports back in the day and they are a similar pattern. I will also most likely fit a set of Blockleys on it when the resto is done. Just trying to decide between 145 and 165. I plan to use 4.5J rims, does anyone know which would be better? I plan to run without arch extensions so I can't really have too much tyre poking out.

as far as i'm aware the main difference (other than contact area) is that a 145 on a 4.5J rim should provide a slightly firmer feel as the tyre will roll (laterally) less on the rim than a 165 when cornering.

With a 145 the steering geometry is 'as designed' and the tyre contract pressure onto the road is just right.
Remember, originally the Mini came with a 5.20 x 10 crossply. Fortunately radials soon replaced the crossplies, but my first 850 came with Dunlop C41 crossplies.
