Was think of a new project for myself and was think about the old gulf scheme for the colors. I wanted a white mini with the orange and blue offset stripes, but im wondering, is there any kinda law or anything on using this gulf scheme, anyone know anything?

some people might get a bit anal about using the gulf colours on anything that didnt originally have them, but as long as its done properly (like chris lockharts blackbird mini above) i dont see the problem.

Tell you what I saw the other day. It was weird.

I think it was a punto (A relatively small car anyway), Done up mini style, it had mini mirrors, badges colour scheme and on the back it had cooper ? it was well funny. ;D

the gulf colour schemes on race cars does seem to have the stripe in the centre but i think it looks better offset to be honest, also it opens at the front like an upside down y (well on the gt40 anyway).

Anyway....I havnt heard of any laws making gulf colours illegal. juat look at how many replica GT40s there are out there with those colours. But as neil_g said they had them in the first place.

andysmini1 - you rmini looks ace, and the fuel tank really sets it off.

how can a color be illegal? is it even possible to 'outlaw' a color?

Geee thanks very much. I'm building another mini at the moment that's going to be tweed grey with an aurum white roof. The tank is going to be white too and the strap the same colour as the bodywork. Easy idea, easy to do and looks the nuts!! :)

It would look the nuts mate.

If you need the correct colour codes let me know. I have the proper ones for the 1966 Porsche Le Mans racer
