My plan is to only run it with the garage door open and a long pipe stuck to the header......I also have an electric radiator fan attached to give plenty of cooling, but I'm thinking since the engine's not under load it should not run hot......

 

Seems like a pretty basic thing to build, I'm just trying to think of the details so I don't have to do things twice.....

 

What I have so far - the engine is just a mock up at this point.

The xk engines put out quite a bit of heat and can overheat when stationary, however neither of my minis will so I think unless its a mega powerful unit you should be ok running it with a small cooling system on it, but an electric fan could be cheap insurance if the temp gets a bit warm. It might be worth some sort of exhaust gas analyser as well so you can get the mixture close enough whilst running the cam in

I have an E-Type, so I am very familiar with how much heat they put out!  :proud:
