@minisilverbullet  hows the engine coming along?

ive had to cut the inner wing in order to get a switch controlled electric fan in alongside the rad, tried without cutting it out and the blades were fouling on the rad core.

but once thats done and wired i think its all done.

it got mapped and rolling road tested yesterday, but they called to say it hadnt hit the drop on the power curve at 7500 rpm, and did i want to risk the crank and push it harder or leave it. so i left it.

just out of curiosity, what crank do you have in yours? standard or strengthened im scared to push mine past 7500rpm on the standard crank. also where abouts rpm wise did yours top out on power?

I am running the standard crank (balanced). Specialist components have hard limited the  the RPM to 7200. What camshafts do yo have?

SO I spent the last 2 weeks "fixing" that. and degreasing the engine bay as the cam belt had sprayed oil everywhere.

I started it up this evening to be welcomed with the sight of oil spraying from cam belt again.

I now think it may actually be the seal on the lower fully (old camshaft position).

HAHAHA!

I just saw this! Indeed! I need a beer not to celebrate but to calm my nerves with this engine.

this new leak is it high pressure or just a seep that is then doping on the belt?

not much pressurised on that side on the standard mini unit.

Yeah it isn't high pressure it is seeping heavily from somewhere ( I think the old camshaft)  and onto the belt.

so from the timing chain cover or seal.

you need to get under and give it all a real good clean to check that the half moon seal between box and block is not the issue. I would not think so this early on.

Edit: forgot that there was a ´new cover for there.

the seal on the (old cam) seals onto the SC pully, so check that oils not getting up the key way and out that way.
