Whould have been better in white rather than old English white.
You think! I think it is more retro looking with the OEW

Finally got round to approaching the idea of having a removable panel at the front of the bonnet to cover some holes, i have yet to cut.
Arc Angels sorted me out with a panel from the same mould as their 16v bonnets.
I spent some time shaping the panel, I have some rubber trim to go around it, but I think i need something with a thicker "slit".
These are the shape of the holes I intend to cut. And i will attach the panel with some sort of 1/4 turn fitting on each side.

Could you not make that into a hinged flap?
Run a hinge along the top and then when you want to open it, open the bonnet, flip the flap up and fasten it to the underside of the bonnet.

So throttle cable snapped 4km from home tonight (luckily).
Seems to have snapped right at the nipple, it was this part which was resting against the peddle/throttle locking clip.
Being only 4km from home, I thought I could manage home by just rating the idle speed and driving. I had to snap an umbrella handle and squash it flat, so I could use it as a flat head screw driver. It was slow and I almost made, but I was conscious of a couple of hilly parts.
Being an unsociable git, I don't have anyone nearby to ask to give me a hand. So I decided to lock the throttle slightly open, by tying the remainder of etc cable to the spot lamps.
Long story shorty made it home MacGyver style.
Now to look for a new cable, but more importantly try to think how I can stop it happening again.
An ideas?

Sounds like the niple is rubbing the cable, try chamfering it a bit, or maybe drilling it out a little too
I think it has rubbed on the retaining clip.
Maybe I overtightened the bolt on the nipple?
haven't really thought of a solution other than putting a adjustable nipple/connector each side of the retaining clip, to stop the cable moving.
