You have mentioned it!

However, I am glad I ordered when I did ( given the 3 week leed time).

I would like to try and use the car the remainder of the season.

Maybe I get it down on the ground and running in the next days.

Tried to start the car tonight.

I would not start, felt like it almost caught.

Can someone confirm the leads are on the coil pack correctly?

This is how I understood them to be:

I had some flames out of the throttle bodies, plugs were a bit sooty and bit wet.

As you say I guess they are the same!

The other item that is critical is the crank position sensor must be less than 1mm from the trigger wheel and also there mustn't be any run out on the trigger wheel either.

I will also check that but I am sure it is fine!

The issue must be the order of the plugs (famous last words)

Success!

it runs!

However, the temp gauge quickly went into the red after about 4 minutes. so i turned the ignition of.

The coolant in the radiator was tepid but not warm. the water hoses were normally warm. the block itself was warm but ok to touch.

Any explanations?

Where have you installed the temp sensor?

Where have you installed the temp sensor?

it is the SC supplied sensor mounted in the SC  alloy  housing

you see it here beside the throttle bodies

is that the right sensor? I thought the IAT ones were green and the coolant ones blue or black.

That was my first thought when I saw the kit. it does look very much like the SPI/MPi air temp sensor. and the terminal it connects to is brown.

However the air temp sensor is totally different design.

So the thermostat hasn't opened?

Unless there's an airlock
