I use 11/32 for 1/8npt. An 8.7 should be fine, the 8.5 might be a bit tight meaning you wont get full engagement of the thread or need excessive force during cutting to get the full taper. But in a pinch i am sure you can get it to work!

That would just be a 90deg an fitting. I like the superflow swivel fittings from torques as they have a slightly bigger bore on the bends and the swivel fitting makes it much nicer to get the angle of the hose you are after.

While the goes and fittings arrive.
I looked at the alternator fitting tonight.
This nice little adjuster arrived today, put together by a small company selling on ebay, customer service great. I love these small firms.
Looks alright fitted. It fouls the bottom of the alternator a bit, so i will fill of a little material from the alternator.
Speaking of the alternator, is there any thing wrong with mounting it like this at the top ear? I.e just bolted to the water pump hole?
Then there is the the belt fitment. as you see the alternator pulley isn't directly in line with the water pump pulley. Is this acceptable? I guess i could file the mounting face of the alternator.
The water pump and the crank pulley are inline with each other.

I had my alt attached on the waterbuck only and it snapped the lug off the water pump, I added the std bracket ton the block and a long bolt and spacer to go between both
oh! thats not good. do you happen to remember where you found such a long spacer?

... what if you turn the alternator upside down? The mounting eyes are on different positioned ears. Might give you a better situ for your belt alignment.

Sensor: often a gap of 1 - 1,5mm will do. But be sure the center of the sensor will be in center of the trigger wheel in order to have the best functioning.
Yes I think I will ask SC to send one more spacer to bring the magnet into the centre of the wheel.
You might make it yourself... where assembling ends, building starts!

unfortunately won't work.
the picture makes the alignment look worse than it is in reality it is about 4mm out.

Quickly learning that.
In the end I just added 1 appropriately sized washer. Bracket is secure, no wobbles.

yes, if you cut back to that casting mark that is pretty much right.
