i was gona go for a landy was after a series 3 truck cab 2.25 diesel and wanted to modd it abit with a 300tdi lump, bf goodrich muds, snorkel, either hydralic or transmission powered winch, expedition roof rack, lots of spotlights and a rooftent all the modds i could posiably squieezzzzzzzzzzzze onto it! however after lots of searching around the cheapest insurance quote i got was 3,500 a year for the base vehicle before i have even touched it!!!!!!!!!!!!! mind you i am only just 17! so with that kind of out of the question i opted for the mini at only 1,500 a year!!!!!!!!!!! and i have every entention of buying a landy after a few years no claims hopefully! this time i want a 110 or maybe a 130 hi capacity pick up with a crane so i can put the mini on the back!!!!!
sorry to drag on i do tend to a bit! happy greenlaning! still collecting my LRO'S 4 years worth now havent missed an issue!
thanks for putting up with me phil

It's been a while since I posted in this topic and updated it, not much it happening with the Land Rover at the moment, except re-furbing an overdrive!
Anyway here's some progress pictures in general:

death slowly hovers around the car
this engine has been out twice in two weeks and still didnt work when we thought it would and is now waiting for a distributer as it was the vaccum that was buggered and this was making the fueling funny ie when you accelerated it just sprayed fuel out the exhaust and back fired

I don't think we need another one in our family though, as we have:
Jezebel- 1968 Series IIA SWB
Mytrle- 1962 Series II, truck cab, SWB
Kevin- in the process of being rebuilt
Dora- 1964 Dormobile, LWB, also being restored atm
Bert- Series III, donor Landy to the others
Oh and Sidney the mini!
