I have an engine I'm looking to sell. But have no idea what it's worth!
It is a mk1 997 cooper block 12A204 casting.
It has been upgraded with 998 cooper parts, 12A595/6 crank and 12G124 rods. It either has machined cooper (there is no "D") or flat top 998 pistons.
64.58mm bore and 76.2mm stroke.
It has clearly been modified for high performance, it has a well ported 12G295 cooper head with oversize valves-33 and 29mm. The block has valve pockets to suit. Both the block and head have been skimmed, tuners stamping are marked on top face.
It looks to be in excellent condition, has no detectable wear on the bores, can still see honing marks and turns freely.
No flywheel, housing or gearbox. Just the engine and head etc.
Any ideas of value much appreciated.
