Unfortunately I have a ******* of a neighbour that for the last few years seams to have nothing better to than to dent the roofs, bonnets and wings of any car (including the mini) within the household whenever they are parked on the road or drive. Previously it was scratching panels and glass with a brillo/sandpaper, witch even though annoying could be polished out or made less noticeable, except the ones on the glass. But even though the other car he's been denting (as well as the mini) only has a scrap value of £100, the number of dents is becoming excessive. Especially when you consider the cost of having each dent repaired and the panel/s repainted on otherwise sound and straight panel/s.

So would one of those cheap suction type pullers work at least making the dents witch are around fist size, (one day I hope the ******* brakes his hand doing...)  less noticeable? And in the case of the mini with the ones on the curved side of the roof, doing away with the need to have to remove the glass, headlining, pop the dents out, fill, prime, paint and refit everything back only to find the dents reappear within the next few weeks.

Have seen this tool damage your car?? if so report him to the feds.

As for the dent puller not sure they will work on small dents, maybe larger ones. it really depends on how much the damage has stretched the metal.

Haven't seen him personally do it as you can keep watch 24/7, although I have over heard him bosting over the fence to another neighbour a few times. Just a pain when videoed the sound never comes out clear enough. It's also the same neighbour that used to force the lock (busting it in the proses) on the boot of the mini trying to nick the tools (roadside repair kit) inside. Although that very quickly stopped when I wired up an alarm siren to a pin switch on the boot and leaving the boot unlocked and empty of just the spare and boot board.

Also a few years previously when I had video proof of another neighbour vandalising (nail varnish in door locks and keyed) while I left it parked round the front for all of 5 mins rather than driving and parking round the back. All I got was there was insufficient evidence, the damage to the paint work and locks was 'general maintenance' and that I should scrap the mini and replace it with something 'newer, safer and more reliable'.

Does the neighbour own a car??

I'd be reporting it to the police and press for compensation

I've been through a similar situation regarding a neighbour.what I did was put a camera pointing at one of my vehicle which I changed over to a cheap px that came in I made sure that he didt notice I put camera there and etc anyway one day jumping up down on my roof and etc etc which was all recorded, took to the police about 2 day later the chap got taken away and ended up in a home after I was told this I didn't claim for compensation but In the back of my mind I've saved his life who know what he could do in the world if he could do random damage to a car.so I wouldn't pointing a gun and firing at him as much as your pissed off there is a reason why he/she doing it

As for dent puller yes the suction ones are ok but very hard to pull it and pop/disappear the dent. I would consider looking at the glue ones they are better than suction. But bear in mind both suction and glue will do minor dent. The best way for P D R is if you can't get behind it with hammer and etc but bear in mind it so hard to remove it without being wavey I've been doing body and paint for 8 years or so and still learning how to do P D R. I've got a retirement guy showing me abit more now in his spare time and he's brill but he's been doing it nearly 40 years and he still says to me the last few years in becoming good and quick

Have you ever approached the guy and asked him why he's doing it, and is there anything you can think of that your doing to cause his actions? It could be something you consider to be irrelevant.

I'd try talking to him. If you do though, be very polite and keep cool regardless of his attitude.

In many cases, talking things through can resolve even really difficult situations, but there is a skill to it and you must have a plan in your mind for any negotiations before you even start.

I sympathise with you though, and the response from the authorities regarding the video footage was unprofessional and disrespectful. They have a duty to investigate crime, which is what criminal damage is, and if they didn't have the resources to investigate they should have told you this instead of suggesting a classic mini shouldn't be on the road.

I hope you get it sorted out.

Talking to him is completely pointless, as because of the slanderous ******* he's made up about me over the years to other neighbors and any others that are gullible enough to believe, if he so much as spots me he hides and runs scared at the 'thug' he's dreamt up in his own mind.
So instead resorts to barely creditable ******* (that some neighbours do believe) and petty vandalism.

As I say it originally started with scratching of paintwork witch polished out. Then it moved onto screws in tyres (I had 4 punctures on the same tyre in 4 weeks all with the same type screws) witch didn't work as not only was I running rather scabby tyres on the mini at the time, but I was also working doing tyre fitting so all the puncture repairs were free.

It's just the dents (not the typical carpark/stone chip ones) that aren't as easy to fix. But then if they could be pulled back out or at least made less noticeable then it would be a nice two fingered saute.

I'll have to post up some pics of the worst looking ones to see if they are worth bothering with.

This is a matter for the police. The culprit should be banged up for persistent criminal damage. If the police will not prosecute despite adequate evidence, tell them that you will be obliged to make a formal complaint. That will have to be investigated independently and will have serious repercussions for them, so the threat will persuade them to act.

If you can get video evidence of a number of attacks, not just one, the low life will face a more severe penalty.  And, if you catch him again after having been dealt with once by the courts, it will not be good for him. But at the very least he is going to have a fine and a criminal record, which will ruin his job prospects, and other things. From what you have said, that will be well deserved. Don't let malignant scumbags win. And, get two estimates for professionally fixing all the damage. That will go down well in court.

Getting the police involved would be utterly pointless, especially considering it would just be a perfect opportunity for him to ******* some more and cause me even more hassle, which he has done in the past. Witch the police being as they are wold have to investigate and try to  charge you with something regardless of whether your completely indecent or not (been there far too many times).

He’s just a stuck up pikey type (had someone round the other week ‘weeding’ his block paving with a knackered petrol strimmer and leaf blower) old fart, that’s either retired/or on benefits (I couldn’t care either way) that doesn’t do anything with his life other that drive his 3 year old diesel A6 (previously a Mondeo diesel) to Lidl each week to fill the boot with own brand special brew. But yet has a grudge upon someone who ‘appears’ to have a better ‘life’ than him or has stuff he doesn’t. Like one of the ******* stories he’s come up with with the idiots seam to believe, is that jobcentre bought me my large snap on toolbox and that its bigger than his box and he’s ‘worked’ for x amount of years. But the slight flaw in that claim is the tool box was £400 second-hand and bought a full year and a half while I was working in garage (another story from his is that I’ve never worked) before I ever first signed on for a few months. Or that last time the police were round accusing me of going into his garden and pulling his fence down, as it clearly wasn’t because it was rotten and fell over in the wind and wanted someone else to pay for its replacement.

Plus as I like to think if you leave someone to carry on worrying about what they ‘think’ they know eventually if given enough rope they will hang themselves. Which is why I do find it rather pathetic that he gets off on running across the street to dent the roof of a 15 year old car with a scrap vale of £100. Witch going buy the 15 or so little dent s in the roof along e if each one would cost a professional £60 each to repair it simply wouldn’t be worth it.

Anyways, I’ll post up pics to see if they are worth bothering about, although it won’t be long before he runs out of roof to keep denting. Maybe they I should claim ‘benefits’ and use it to finance a brand new car to give his something to whinge about lol.
