Hi,

I purchased an 80mm Smiths Rev counter from Beaulieu Cooper Day this year. I need the electrics for it. I am missing the bulb holder with wires and whatever is required for it to work.

I do not have a photo of the back but realise this is a pretty popular gauge. Does anyone have or know where I can get the parts required to make this work in my Mini? I have been unable to find the parts I need at any of the websites that seem to sell it.

There should be earth, positive and one 'sense' connection to go to the negative side of the coil.

Then the bulb holder will just be ground and a switched 12v supply (or you can have it so the light on the gauge comes on when you turn the headlights on)

I've got a few bulb holders here, i'll dig one out for you.

Look at the back of your gauge, then Google for Smiths Tachometer.  Find an online picture that is the same as the back of your gauge and post the link.

As mentioned in the other thread you resurrected, there are RVC and RVI tachs.  They wire quite differently.

Its bulb holder I need most. I have plenty of wire. I will send some money your way if you can help me with the bulb holder  :D

Nope! Was supposed to be at brooklands but I couldn't make it, might be easier if I just post them to you, i've got some left over stamps doing nothing.

I might be over at jons next week but again, can't promise anything haha

Next question to all.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for one of these gauges. And any changes I need to be aware of if I am running electronic ignition?

You may want to start a new thread in the tech session to get a different set of eyes on this.

There are online schematics for most Smiths tachs.  Early on I requested you post a picture of the back of your tach or find a similar one online and post a link.  Once we see the back of your tach we can answer your wiring questions and compatibility questions.
