Sorry I could never recomend ebay, a shiny carb pot and soda blasted body doesn't mean the jet is centred correctly. How many carbs bought are fitted straight away, rebuilds can take years

Do the job right and you'll do it once, SU make them and know how to rebuild them

I personally rebuild my own carbs using only genuine parts from SU. Its might be worth watching these and buying a rebuild kit and do the carb you already have

We can recondition them, or sell you a refurbished one.
Just Google Somerford Mini :)

Got an electronic ignition pack to fit , this one :

Mini with A+ engine 59D Electronic ignition Performance pack ,ballast ignition

http://www.ebay.co.u...=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Just to confirm the wiring order.

The existing pink/white and yellow white goes to the + on the coil

The black on the distributor to the - on the coil and a the red connected straight to the fuse box.

Is this ok?

So as advised by everyone , took her to a rolling road.

Just to remind , i have rebuilt carb with a cone filter and new ignition system.

The guy guy on the rolling road, changed the needle to suit the new filter and tuned her up.

But still have the same problems before the rolling road (not as bad but still there) , in the mornings needs full choke to start and when accelerating for the first few minutes , will kind of "die/farting sound",  but 5 minute later will work without problems or noise.

Any advice would be welcome.

sounds normal ish to me, i always let mine tick over for a few minutes to let it warm up and to the stage that i can put the choke in and it will happily idle.

reason for it cutting it out is that is getting flooded, as it warms up slowly put the choke it, give it time , like you say once its warm its fine,

its not like a modern car its an old mini with a carb,

who did the tune up?????

i just got mine out today, its been sitting for the last 2 months, started ok, but hesitant when accelerating but the fuel is 2 months old and it needs a run, it will get better.

Hi Dean, hope you good.

I took her to the Classic and Race as recommended.

I suppose that might be normal and it is really cold too.
