I think this is by far one of the best looking minis about! Top stuff!
Cheers mate really good to hear stuff like that.
Well a big change to this project now, iv just brought a custom K-series subframe, along with lots of other bits.

The frame was built to fit uner a standard roundnose, so with a bit of messing about i think ill be keeping Snot a round nose, but not really bothered if i do go for a clubman front as i like the look of that aswell lol.
So the bits i have ended up buying are:
1.6 k-series lump
R65 gearbox
Custom frame that has the gear linkage welded to it,
Custom Driveshafts,
Rear beam,
Modified fuel tank,
ECU
214i wiring loom
Exhaust manifold and link pipe
Inlet manifold
spare head
remote oil filter, has no gasket but easy to make one.
upper arms are there
So this conversion is defonately heppening and ill be able to keep it on 10s so no need for some metro wheels now, although i have also brought some 13" starmags, so if 10s are just silly ill fit the 13" but ill have to wait till the conversion.
I was also speaking to my mum and she said she might let me use the garage at home

So now im going to have to sell on all my metro bits that i was going to use, i had nearly everything that i would have needed for the conversion, so now i guess ill be putting them up for sale soon and see if there would be any interest...

Well for a while anyways before i start to play with it lol
Havent really thought about and mods for the engine yet as iv been trying to focus on my minus, but once thats finished and on the road this will be all go go go

Cant wait to get started on it though as i wanted do the engine conversion before i fitted the 1380, but at the time i didnt really have the funds.
But as a current update on the project i fitted a heater, but it was in the evening so it was getting dark, so i left fitting it with water to the next day, but when i went down to fill it up in the morning i found that only two of the bonnet pins had been done up, and when i went to put the water in it was coming straight out ofa rather large hole in the side of the rad

Haha, dont worry mate, i expect you will be finished before me concidering iv got to finish the minus, then i can start on this, although i do plan to have the minus on wheels by the end of next week

Well thanks to Steve W off turbo minis i am not the owner of these babys:

They are a pair of full carbon fiber a-panels, and the best bit they were free

Also a set of 13" x 8" (might be 7" though, but sold to me as 8" lol) starmags turned up today, not sure if i will use them, but they were cheap and it means if 10's are to small then i can stick these on:

Our builds will seem very similar when done.
Both 1.6 k-series
Both intensive carbon builds
Both with some relatively rare parts.
Both with mk1 rear lights.
Good things always come in twos!
Mine will be a bit more of a race inspired build. Such as a rear diffuser and stuff like that.
oh and those seats i spoke of earlier in the year, ive finished the design in cad just this week, i hope you dont mind a "tight" fit.

Well today i had a very very nice delivery

OH YEA all the k-series conversion bits are here. I took a few quick pics on my phone, there really crappy, but you get the idea lol. I didnt take pics of everything.
First up the subframe, has braces that bolt on the front and the linkage is already shortened and welded in place:

Then the heart, at the moment its got a 16v distributor head on it, but i also got a 16v MPi head so ill swap them over once i have ordered a new headgasket.:

R65 gearbox:

Heres a quick pic of the modified driveshafts, showing how they have been sleeved, they look like they have been done really well and will take a hammering

Moified fuel tank, so now has a built in fuel pump:

Cut down rear subframe, look prety goo actually as it has had braces welede on, and extra bolts welded in place

1.6 flywheel, also got the clutch plate and backplate.

Thats all i got pictures of, but iv got a spare head, to replace the distributor head, two inlet manifolds (one metal and one plastic), wiring loom, ECU, Starter, alternator, modified exhaust manifold and another one thats has had the modifications started on, and there are a few other things that i cant think of at the moment.
So by the looks of it there is only a few very small bits i need to sort out, so im happy alltogether, although the wiring looks does look scary lol.

All you have to do is bolt it altogether now. You can do that in a weekend.........
