Cheers :D

Well i just brough my self some more carbon fiber to get on the mini, its a standard carbon exhaust thats use on the R1 bikes the guy im buying it off said its only done 10 miles so basictally brand new:

Although i do love my exhaust, but its just sitting too low and i feel it to quite for the style of my mini.

So although this it carbon i think im going to me making so brackets up to have it sitting right up into the rear subframe so it give alot more clearance and in doing this i wont be having the tail pipe coming out the car anywhere so it will be kind of a stelth exhaust but give a good rumble, but i think it will be a nice rumble and not to loud as the tail pipe bore isnt massive, its smaller than the link pipe if i remember correctly as my stepdad has one on his R1.

Well you could put a bike exhasue on a 998, but it would be *rubbish*, im not sure if the bore is going to be to big for my 1380, let along a 998 lol.

Well iv just been on a f***ing mission lol, just done 320 mile round trip to collect me a 6 point Saftey Devices rollcage, just got to source some door bars for it now  if i can get someone to give me a hand with holding the other ends of bolts then ill get my cage out and fit this tomrrow, but i dont know if anyone will be around yet.

Well a couple of days ago i fitted a heter matrix into the cooling system:

Posted Image

I then went to fit the thermostat, but when refurbishing the head one of the thermostat studs snapped off and i drilled and tapped this out to accept a M7 bolt, but i coulnt find a M7 bolt anywhere, so i was using a M6 bolt and it wasnt great so i drilled this out again and tapped a mate thread.

Posted Image

I then got a 82* thermostat fitted and get everything back to gether, i then fired the engine up and the heater matrix was leaking, so i took that out an just bypassed the hosed, i then took it out for a run and the gauges was still showing the temp as readiung high, so i had another think about it an tested the voltage stabilizer and that wasnt working correctly, so i went and brought a new one and got that fitted, took the mini for a test drive and the gauge showed the engine temp being perfect O_O and it sayed like this for over 100miles :( but i will get a heater matrix and get that fitted and maby a 2 core rad before i go to germany, just becuase its a long way and i just want to be safe lol.

Yesterday my mate popped over to give me a hand with the cage, was a bit tight at times, but ratchet staps came in very handy and it got in there eventually :D, with just enough clearance for the dash lol, dont think i will be taking it out very often though lol.

LOL yea well to be honest it was actually prety easy to get it in, with my old cage it was a pig of a job, but this time i had two ratchet straps and it went in easy as anything O_O

I got it off ebay LOL yes iv been on there again haha.

Im thinking of making up some door bars for it, but not 100% sure yet...

Today i fitted solid tower bolts, should have fitted these ages ago but never got round to it, so now the front subframe doesnt move atall :w00t: should help with the handling.

I also had a bit of a play with my electric fan and i have managed to chop it about a bit so it will fit down between the rad and the brace bars, but i didnt have any metal to make up up some brackets, so cable ties will do untill i sort out some metal lol.

I also recived some breathers through the post, so i fitted them and that cleared the engine bay up a bit >_<

I also recived a maniflod for my twin carbs from Tom (minivanman) Thank you very much

I think the manifold if for a set of twin HS2 that has been re-drilled to accept the twin 1.5 carbs, then has the middle taken out with a grinding stone, but it will get me going untill i can sort out some money to buy a decent manifold. It doesnt have the locating part on the tabs that the manifold bolts pull against, but luckly i have some locating rings, and testing it on my spare head it seems to work well like that, but it looks like the carbs are going to be angled quite alot, so clearance shouldnt be an issue :w00t: I also blanked the holes off that the HS2 would have used and filed these flat.

Glad it worked! I didn't have any locator rings handy so I just slung it in a corner of the garage and got the maniflow one.
