Damn. If Iknew that it was that easy, I would have kept the tank and bought another for myself. Ohwell, alloy fuel tanks are muchos cooler.
>_<

EDIT: seeing as you not using the rear seats, you could just mount the battery inside the car. Your choice though

Yea as said iv still got a bit more hammering to do, so i think ill be able to get it closer to the body by a couple of inches to give the clearance for the battery. and if i cant get the clearance ill just move the battery to where the spare wheel would usually go, as i dont ever carry a spare wheel... But again i will need a spare or 2 for germany... The reason im having twin tanks is so i can hold more fuel for germany really lol, and it should help keep the weight more level on the rear

Also i just picked this baby up from the same guy i got the webber from, and he might also be sorting me out with a full rollcage:

I then though i would quickly stick that on before we lost all light:

So now ill do the fine adjustment of the cam using the little gauge on the push rod, a gasket on the outer cover an stick it all back together and now the engine should be leak free lol.

Also i pushed the pot joint back in place and it sounded like it located this time :dontgetit:

 all timed up and back together now

And finally i have no oil leaks :) :( Well from what i can tell after the car ideling for about 30 mins... Didnt get any pics though as my phone had no battery :dontgetit:

Ill wack the front end on tomorrow and get some milles clocked up :(

Still unsure what carb to use, either twins or the webber

Ideally i want to have the new carbs on and set up on a rolling road before germany, but i dont know if thats going to be possible as im going to cornwall with a load of mate the week before germany so not got much time... still trying to sorce some front legs for the rollcage, but the guy i got the webber and timing set off had loads of cages for racing, but isnt sure if hes selling any yet, so ill get on to him in a couple of days and see what happens...

Looks like this is going to be one thirsty engine i just worked out using the current carb and with me still running the engine in, so not going over 4000 revs im only getting 26mpg, so when i put the new carbs on there going to be drinking more fuel and ill soon actually be able to put my foot down, so thats going to make that go a hell of a lot lower :)

Well the twin carbs came through the post today and after being in contact with ACDodd at MLMotorsport and telling him my full engine spec he advised me to use AAA needles and a red spring, so i had a search through the internet and found some red springs, but i couldnt find anywhere that sold any AAA needles, but after a strip down of the carbs today i found they already have AAA needles fitted >_< so thats going to save me a hell of alot of hastle :w00t:

Just got to find a manifold to get them on the mini now :shy:.

They need defonately need 1 but probably two new tyres, but thats not to much of a problem. I also recived som nuts that i brough of someone on here, well atleast i think i did i got the parcel felt it and guessed it was them and didnt open it lol.

Just velcro (sp) so i can take it off it its being parked in some unsafe places, i was going to screw the mounting bracket in place, but this looked really ugly when the satnav isnt in place.

Well on the nitromorse went:

Posted Image

And off came the lacqure and paint:

Posted Image

Well the lacqure and the paint in the middle came off easily, but the paint between the spokes didnt have a single sign of shifting, so im not sure what that is, so ill just sane that back and re-paint.

Also i fitted a oil cooler today as the temp gauge was reading high:

Posted Image

Posted Image

But although that helped with the engin temp a bit it was still running a bit hot, so iv not ordered a thermostat blanking sleve. And ill drill out the head to accept the heater tap and ill plumb this in along with my heater matrix to hopefully reduce the temp a bit more. I think its running hot becuase the rings are still bedding in causing quite a bit of friction thus causing more heat.

hopefully it will be sorted soon tho :D
