klkl wheres there shop?

Yea well this morning i did the following:

Raised the rear up, to give more clearance on the exhaust.
Adjusted clutch.
Tweaked carb
Sort out wiring for wipers
Seam sealer the exhaused brackets
Adjust bonnet pins and fit raising brackets.
Replace drivers side front indicator.

I then took the mini down to the garage, and the put a timing gun on it and set the carb with the emisions tester.

Then iv been driving it all day, done me 109 miles ;D

So tomorrow ill do the following:

Change oil
Torque head down when hot
Tighten up manifold bolts
Raise hi-lows (drivers side)
Secure dash in place to stop the rattle
Fit a bit of rubber between exhaust and sub frame to stop them knowcking together.
Seam seal welds again.
Adjust idle speed down slightly
Fit the cigi lighter sockets in place.

Wow havent heard from you in ages mate, how have you been?

Yea its good to be driving the mini again. Need to get some good tyres though lol, but i need the money :P

Also i need to save for twin carbs and 1.5 roller rockers...

And then spending money for when i go on holiday with all my mates, then money for BH2N.

looks like i best get selling some stuffs lol.

Yea it took its time to come back on the road, but i didnt touch the mini for about 3 months really, after breaking my wrist, and then that made me lost interest, but now after working my so hard its sooo good to finally have it back, just the small things left to do now.

Also it really does need a clean after being in a dusty barn for all that time lol

Yeah it's been a while since I've either been to a meet or even been on here ;) I've just been so stupidly busy with Uni and work that mini adventures just haven't been possible.

Lucky you though, getting to go to BH2N this year (looks like a good one with so many cars), you must be rather glad to finally get to go in your own car, especially after all this work you've put in? :P

If your still going to Bluewater on the 27th, i'll hopefully see you there (depends on whether i'm working or not).

The shop is a chinese take away next to the swimming pool, I saw you just before you turned at the mini round about.
Also I 've never known what the whole raised bonnet is about. Improved air flow? Clearance?Or just to show off your Sexy bonnet off some more : p

What a day! ;)

After the initial run out on the 9th July, Tom asked me if I could get up extra early so he could get the Mini ready to get the timing done at the garage later in the morning of the 10th (yesterday). So, like being back to school I sacraficed my usual lie in and got to Tom's at 8 am.

First job was to get the wipers working. Tight for space and short wires made this a fiddley job.

Posted Image

Here they are working. Tom has hungover wipers :P

Posted Image

Next job was to replace the drivers front indicator but the unit was rusty so a replacement was needed.

Posted Image

Tom then adjusted the height of the rear suspension to prevent the exhaust from scraping on flat roads and get it over speed humps without getting stuck.

Posted Image

Height comparison

Posted Image

Posted Image

We then adjusted the clutch as it was too soft.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Any excuse to take a picture of my car, sorry

Posted Image

The bracket below was on the exhaust which had bent considerably.

Posted Image

Grindage!

Posted Image

Exhaust height. Not much clearance.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

We then replaced the old bracket with the new one

Posted Image

Tom tightened the nut that caused the most pain in the body.

Posted Image

He then added sealant paint for the exhaust bracket.

1:30 pm Timing and carb were adjusted

We then drove over to my house so I could drop the Cooper off.

Here are a few of the in-car video clips :P

After this we went over to Herne Bay and purchased a replacement unit for the front drivers indicator.

One proud owner

Posted Image

After driving down a country road, we realised the height needed to be risen. Took some nice scenic pictures.

Posted Image

Posted Image

We then headed over to Jodie and Ant's house, which helped to rack up the miles on the odometer.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Jodie got Barney out

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

And we went for a spin.

Posted Image

Posted Image

9:30 pm. Target miles reached for the day

Posted Image

Only took me 5 hours this morning to sort out and upload the pics and videos but worth it ;)

Cheers  yea its soo good to have the mini back on the road, lol made alot of people smile yesterday when me and my mate were driving round everywhere in our tuxedos with the 4 point harnesses, blazing the air horns :D

Then we pulled in to the enterance of the prom with the air horns going off an i was giving it as much as i could (lol so 4000 rpm max haha)

Then i got told off for not entering nicely haha,

Well after the 100 miles i changed the oil and that was nice and black where everythign has been bedding in, but thankfully there was no chunks of metal or anything like that, just dirty oil .

Well im not sure how upto date this is, but this is the list of finishing of bits i had to do:

Sort out exhaust.
Adjust clutch
Tweak carb
Sort out wiring for wipers
Seam sealer
Adjust bonnet pins and fit raising brackets.
Drivers side front indicator.
Change oil
Tighten up manifold bolts
Raise hi-lows (drivers side)
Secure dash
Seam seal everything again.
Adjust idle speed down slightly
Clean up wires in passenger footwall
Glue the lighter sockets in place.
Fit seal and gasket to timing chain cover
Fit a bit of rubber between exhaust and sub frame
wire in bulb to make alternator work
swap indicator wires round on the acewell.

and iv done all of that apart from the seal and gasket for the timing cover, but ill get that sorted when the gaskets come through the post :)

I alos put a bit of rubber between the subframe and exhaust, but its still knocking a bit, so ill put some more rubber in there and hopefully that will fix the knocking.

Also iv got to get saving as im going to buy some twin 1.5 carbs, some 1.5 roller rockers and some decent tyres.

As for the camacs, they were on some ol wheels i brought... so i cant help you with where to get them, but if you PM miniman-pie then im sure he will be abnle to tell you as he seems to love them.
