Well today i didnt get much done on the mini as i went out with the girl friend, but i did get about 30 mins this morning.

So i got the bolts off the old disc/flanges and fitted them to the new 7.9 discs and metro flanges, i then fitted a new inner CV gaiter.

Once that was done i get the disk and flange fitted and put the hub nut on finger tight just to hold it together and make sure it didnt fall off.

I then remove a little bit of material from the fiesta caliper carrier and got them fitted, i had to used one small spacer at the top and 2small spacers that the bottom so the disc would sit level.

I then spun the disk round and found that it looked like the disk was slightly buckled, but im hoping this is just down to nothering being torqued up.

I still havent got round to posting the f***ing calipers off as i keep forgetting about then, so hopfully ill get them sent off tomorrow.

Also whilst i was out i poped own to my garage to pick up a few bits for the mini, and while i was own there i fitted the dizzy shaft and dizzy, i also fitted the interior starter motor, ill have to order a solinoid for that as i has a pre-engaged starter before...

Finally also whilst i was out i managed to pick up some new needles for the sewing machine, so i got my girlfriend ot give me a had the the cover is nearly made now :P

Well i was planning to get a load of work done on the mini tomorrow, but now as it rained whilst we was planning on going shopping i have to go tomorrow :teehee:

But atleast now i am actually getting somewhere with this project.

There is still quite a long list for me to go through, but most of the bits are small.

The list is:

Finishi making the seat cover,
Make seat subframes
Clean up the passanger side rear floor and paint.
Cver the rear seat and rear floor with acoustic carpet or similar.
Clean up the parcel shelf with thinners
Remove petrol tanks
Clean up boot and paint
remove exhaust
Re-fit new side exit twin DTM exhaust
Fit rear hi-lows and new knuckles
Fit rear adjustable spax
Fit new wheels
Fit carbon fiber roof skin
Fit diff
Fit head, rockers and rocker cover.
Double check the engine over
Fit engine
Fit the rest of the fiesta calier parts
bleed breaks through
Chop the rust out the front floors
Weld new floor aread in
Clean up front floors and paint.

Also i have decided im going to remove my dashboard and replace it with me z-cars dash, as i will be using the acewell digi dash. And if i was to be using the original dashboard then i would have had to make a plate up or something to cover the old gauge holes.

Ill make some templates up and see what position i will have the new dials in.

Slight update to the list, today i didnt get much time on the mini but i did get a bit. I found some allen keys, so i got the tank out, i then cleaned up the boot a bit, didnt take to much care when doing this as i wont be using the boot, once i gave it a quick clean over i gave it a quick coat of paint, i then undid the passanger side shock, and fitted the hi-low to that side. I then bolted the bottom the spax shock on at the bottom, but ill need a hand to lift the rear arm up so i can fit the bolt through the rear arch.

tomorrow ill get crackin on a few more bits.

The updated list is:

Finishi making the seat cover 3/4 done now
Make seat subframes nearly finished making now
Clean up the passanger side rear floor and paint.
Cover the rear seat and rear floor with acoustic carpet or similar.
Clean up the parcel shelf with thinners
Remove petrol tanks Done
Clean up boot and paint Done
remove exhaust
Re-fit new side exit twin DTM exhaust
Fit rear hi-lows and new knuckles Passanger side done
Fit rear adjustable spax Passanger side 1/2 done
Fit new wheels
Fit carbon fiber roof skin
Fit diff
Fit head, rockers and rocker cover.
Double check the engine over
Fit engine
Fit the rest of the fiesta calier parts
bleed breaks through
Chop the rust out the front floors
Weld new floor aread in
Clean up front floors and paint.

Just ordered 2m X 1m or carbon fiber cloth  so hopefully that will be enough to cover my bonnet and arches. If not it will cover the bonnet and ill have to decide what else to cover.

Some pics of todays progress:

Sorry about the bad pics, but there are no lights in the barn, so its hard to get good pics on my phone.

Cleaned up and paitned boot:

Passanger side rear hi-low fitted

I also recived this today:

So ill sort out some spade connections and get that fitted, because at the moment i just have inline fuses and no fuse box, so this shoudl tidy things up a bit.

Not im just waiting on things really, hopefully i will recive my diff soon as once that comes through i can get the engine back in.

I also decided that i will be changing the dash for the z-cars dash as it means i will be able to get a better finish with all the new gauges. I decided on this layout in the end. That will be using my Acewell digi dash, and then four 52mm smiths gauges, these will be vaccum, oil pressure, fuel and volts.

Im also thinking of fitting a satnav in the area where the switches would normally be, but i want to upgrade my satnav first...

Cheers  i cant wait for my breaks and diff to turn up, because then i can have the mini done very soon :)

I would fit the roof already, but there isnt much light where im working, so the big hole in the roof is good for leffing light inside the mini haha

nah there easy to fit, just undow the shock and the rear arm will drop down, you can then get to the original trumpets, remove them and then just replace with the hi-lows then re-fit the shocks.

You will have to remove/move the fuel tank though...

Cheers  yea if you see the mini it still looks a long way off being done, but its only smalll things that visually will make a big difference.

Today i recived my runners, just got to bolt my brackets to them, then drill the holes and the seats can be fitted. I also recived a solinoind so i can wire the starter motor up when i fit the engien.

Havent dont any work today as i had my last exam, but on the way home i picked up some carpet, so i can do all that soon, but im not sure if i should wait to fit it to the rear floor and seat till i have done the welding to the front or just fit it not and make the car look tidy.

I also put the wheel on the rear drivers side today and let the jack down and the body sits on the wheel lol, think it will need some adjusting lol.i might pop out for an hour in a bit but im not sure yet.
