Anyways so i took the whole engine apart and everything looks to be in amazing condition, it must have had a re-build not long ago, it looks like the crank is either new or has been re-ground, how would i know if it has been re-ground?
The bores are also in amazing condition, i really think this engine has either not been used much or the bores have recently be honed. The bores came out at 71mm.
The pistons have AE 20659 stamped in the. I take it these are standard pistons, coud anyone confirm this.
Also whilst stripping it down i found that a center main strap was fitted.
Also the cam looked to be in amazing condition and was stamped KG MD286. I get the feeling that this is a 286 cam, but can anyone tell me who made is?
I also had a quick look at the gearbox and there is absolutely no wear on any of the cogs. Does anyone know how i can tell what gearset i have?
I took loads of pictures, but i cant find my lead at the moment. When i find it ill upload some pics.

to check if the crank has been reground, take a shell out and underneath it will say +10 etc
The cam will be a kent cam 286 (should say KC rather then KG)

Cheers ill check the shells and see if they have anything stamped on them, but i dont remember anything being stamped on them.
i was going to fit a morespeed phase 3 cam, what do you think would be better for a weekend/track day car?

Still cant find my cable, i dont know where i must have put that.
well i popped down the garage tonight to measure the pistons and bores and they are 73.5 ish give or take .1 so im really happy now as it saves me buying new pistons and paying for a re-bore

Pic of the clutch plate, iv never had one of there off before, so could anyone tell me if this is in good/bad condition? should i change it?

Backplate, will be being changed to a lightened on.

Flywheels housing, used to help me know where the bolts go back to.

Flywheel, with puller still attached, i used sockets on the end of each bolt as the washers that they provide with them are rubbish and just bend.

Flywheel, is this standard?

Flywheel housing bolts out

Flywheel housing removed, does anyone know what with the whole hand written stitch thing?

Center main strap.

Oil pump

286

Pistons

Crank

Gearbox bits

I know the pics really are rubbish, but could anyone tell me anything about the gearbox? i dont know anything about gearboxes yet.
Once again soz for the rubbish pics.
