Well it finally stopped raining so i went straight outside to get some work done, i stripped out the majority of the interior.

Posted Image

Then i made up a tab for the passenger side bonnet pin, got the welder out and welded it in place, i then ground back the weld and painted it.

Posted Image

It then started raining again, as it was only light rain i though ill just stay out, so i gave everything a quick tidy up, but then the wind picked up and i heard a big smash and the gazebo in the back garbed had been picked up flew across the garden and smashed in to the fence, breaking the wooden logs :shifty: so i took the fabric part off so it wouldnt happen again, at this point i was dripping wet so i came in and had a shower.

If it gets a bit dryer later ill go out and do the drivers side bonnet tab.

To do list

Skim fill the rear conversion light plates.
Weld the boot floor to the hinge panel section.
Weld tabs to both the top of the inner wings and to the boot for bonnet pins.
Remove drivers side a-panel and re-fit a new panel there.
Cut rear valance off.
Fit smooth fiberglass rear valance, when i receive it.
Skim fill a few little bits.
Make some internal boot hinges. Changed my plans im using 4 bonnet pins on the boot now.

Well today iv got alot of what i wanted to get done, done.

First off i fitted the other bonnet pin tab:

Im pleased with how they have fitted.

I then chopped of the rear valance and lip, put a few weld along the the boot floot to the hinge panel. I then bolted the fiberglass rear valance on and that was a great fit . Iv got to fill this but that will probably be done at the spray booth. Also in the pic you can see the 4 bonnet pin tabs i welded in :

I then chopped the drivers side a-panel off and ill re-fit that soon.

Also here are a couple of pics of the MK1 boot skin rested in place.

Iv everything goes to plan ill be getting the cage and my dash painted the in kawasaki green to match the body paint.

Also i got a quote from a local paint suppliers for about £100 for 2.5 liters of kawasaki green with hardener. Does this sound like a reasonable price?

Well i felt like a lazy day today lol, so all i did to the mini was strip the inner skin out the bonnet.

All that i have left to do before the car goes away is:

Test fit the arches
Drill holes for the sunroof wind deflector
Fit drivers a-panel
Fit boot pins
Fit bonnet pins
Make the flip front a removable front

Then when its in the paint workshop me and the guy spraying it for me will fill and rub back the car then its being sprayed .

A bit of an update.

Well i work up to the post man bringing me alot of bonnet pins :proud: so that ment that i could get alot done today

So iv been out working on the mini this morning :P

I fitted the drivers side a-panel. I havent got any pics at the moment but ill sort them later.

I then had a courier come along and my MK1 rear lights turned up :P so i test fitted them and them fit on the conversion plates nice :ermm:

Posted Image

I then set out about fitting the 4 pins to the boot, them went on ok with a bit of a wiggle but there done now :D

Posted Image
Posted Image

And now the back it starting to look smooth :D iv still got to fill the valance and rear lights but this will be done using the machines at the paint place.

Posted Image

This afternoon im going to try and get the front end on :D so them mini will look like a mini again :D :D :D

Only 6 more bonnet pins tp get :o

I think im going to have to learn how to open this pins quickly lol

Yea im please with them :proud: :P I wounder where i get them from??? :D

Only joking :P Thank you JimP :ermm: :D

Well i got the front wings on :D, I fitted the bonnet pins to the front valance, i fitted them in the holes that are usually used for the front subframe mounts. I then welded the tabs on to the new passenger side a-panel. Then i fitted the Duez fasteners to the rear of the wings. I didnt get round to fitting the bonnet pins to the bonnet yet, but that will be done tomurow. I also fitted the sunroof wind deflector.

As the flip front was pre-cut in the factory, i thought that everything would fit, but mini things never go to plan, although the fit was very good and i didnt have to adjust much there, the grill hole was cut to big to fit a MK1 grill it would only fit the MK3+ grill, so i had to fiberglass two plates at the sides so i can fit grill buttons. But atleast it all looks right now.
