Fitted my evil eyes today, and i hope i dont have to do it again for a long time. They were so hard to get under the chrome rings but with the help from my friend we got them in, in the end.

I think they look great

Well im very happy now as i got my new engine on saterday. :( its a 1275 A+ MG metro engine, that has been bored out +20. Which has done 10,000 miles since the re-bore. When it was at my house i took the head off and checked out all the bores, and they all look to be in very good condition.

Well i have got some nice plans for this engine. First off im going to save up some money :) Then ill be ordering in some parts, which will be:
  • [list]
  • New cranks bearings
  • clutch/flywheel cover with bolts
  • Lightened and balanced clutch and flywheel
  • New water pump
  • New fuel pump
  • Engine breather
  • Oil cooler
  • oil pump
  • 2 core radiator
  • duplex timing gear
  • Phase 3 cam
  • Swiftune cam followers
  • Double valve springs
  • A full set of engine gaskets
  • Dip stick
  • Large water pump pulley
  • Full hose set
  • Rocker cover.
  • MegaJolt Lite Jr. (MAP sensor option)
  • EDIS 4 modular
  • coil pack
  • VR Sensor
  • Cranks pulley wheel adjusted and have a timing wheel fitted to it.
  • VR sensor custom bracket.

What are you doing with the gearbox? You won't need straight cuts, unless you are after the noise. I'd definately go for a hardened diff pin, or an x pin diff. Its worth it for the peace of mind. I'd put a centre oil pickup in as well while you are at it. And what about the head? To get the full potential from the cam, you really need to have a look at the head as well. MG metty should have slightly larger valves as standard IIRC, so with a vizard bible I'd have a bash at doing a bit of porting. Think thats about it.

Yea i didnt add the gearbox to the list as ill be sending if off to guesswork when i come to the point where im putting it back together and ill be having a full re-furb and having a Central oil pick and a competition diff pin, and high grade steel layshaft fitted.

As for the head im not really sure what to do yet. The engine came with a GT head, im not really sure if anything has been done to it, if i post some pics up would someone be able to help me a little bit.

Ok well i decided to de-bumper the trailer, mainly to get more welding practice lol, anyway i am about 3/4 done now :) and my welding seems to be coming along nicely now :) Anyway here are some pics for you of what i have done so far:

First i chopped about 6 inches off then welded that, then another 6 inches off and welded the, etc....

Posted Image

Posted Image

i then got about 3/4 of the way along, but i had to go out so i gave it a quick coat of primer to give it a little bit of protection whilst i was out.

Posted Image

I then ground back the weld and filled the parts that i had welded.

So next weekends job is to finish that off :dontgetit:

Edit: sorry about the bad picture quality, i used my old phone. ill get some better pics up next weekend
