Nah just plug it in :) I thought I would remind you that's all haha. My only worry is what about the exhaust as it's going to run proper close to the alternator, you thinking a bit of heat wrap maybe?

How is it for getting an exhaust manifold in there?

It's gonna be tight like a nun but yeah plenty of heat wrap should be fine, exhaust will probably be next on the list so updates to follow next week

If that's the standard alternator o doubt you'd get that under the grill... The dihatsu one I have stick out a bit. When I tried the standard one it was poking out by miles!

It's strange. You engine must be tilted further back than mine because when I tried my original one it was no where near close? Would be interested to see a photo of where it is in relation to the bulk head and cross member

My engine is lower so maybe it's further back ? I bought a little suzuki alternator but it turned out to be the same size as the micra one and actually stuck out more as it was an odd shape :/ I'll get some pics of bulkhead clearences for you tho

I think its lower so may be further back or just tilted different... who knows! the stadard for me as you can see poked out alot and the new one just clears.. may have to space the grill out a few mm...

I've got a rover exhaust manifold to modify it's very simular to a k series one which is what I bought it as but later found out it wasn't exactly the same

I'd put good money on the manifold not fitting with the alternator in that position

To be honest the picture makes it look closer to the exhaust outlet than it actually is

Will a skate board wheel cope with the speed the belt will go round?

Well most idler pulleys just have metal bearings in them the same as cheap skateboard bearings, these are ceramic bearings which are even better than the metal type so in theory it should be fine I mean the wheel it's self is designed for riding on concrete etc so should be fine with a rubber belt on it
