2 inches seems.like a more space than there should be unless I'm just thinking wrong because my hi-los at the lowest ride very close to the bump stops. I had to cut them down so I had good travel.

Something must be wrong, you seem to have a lot of ground clearance, my frame wasn't as low as yours and I had less ground clearance

Dunno lol it's a mini there's never 2 alike ;)

Anyway updates although nothing major, started work on my clutch by making a spreader plate which bolts to the bulkhead

And then welded on some fixings for my brake hoses

Today started with pumping flood water out of the pit lol

Then I finished off my clutch pedal although I'm not getting enough travel so will have to alter it again

Then I modified a DSN classics billet alloy blanking plate so that it would block off the clutch side but keep the brake side open

More updates tomorrow :)

Careful with the clutch cable mount, even with a large plate on the bulkhead i still found i had alot of flex in the shell when pressing the pedal. We sorted it by making a blanking plate like yours but welding it to the clutch cable spreader plate.. kinda like a triangle shape if that makes sence. Just a heads up :)

Yep you will get a fair bit of flex. I braced mine heavily

Don't have any flex at the moment, the spreader plate sits over like the little recess that's in the bulkhead which has given it more strength plus it's very close to the cross member but if I do notice it flex I shall alter it, on a side note the original bracket that holds the cable onto the engine does flex when pushing the pedal :S

Have you tried the pedal properly in the car then checked for flex? The bulk head is thin and I can't imagine there being no flex at all but maybe that's just me!

I've altered the pedal and I've now got plenty of travel, I've been working the pedal with my grandad watching the bulkhead and he said its not really flexing so I feel quite happy with my setup

Shortened my gear selector thing

Also modified the back of it where it attached to the car so that now it sits lower :)

And it fits on the car lovely and selects all gears perfectly

The spanner slipped off whilst I was doing it up and I whacked myself straight on the nose so now I've got a nice little cut and I feel like a right idiot haha
Looks ok inside may adjust it slightly once my seat is back in

Also brought my front end up to to work shop which almost fits just needs a little trim here n there :)

It fits :) bit too much gap on the passenger side between the wing n bonnet but sure abit of fetling later on will sort it :) ignore the wonky grill lol it's only on with 1 screw

Had a little play with some radiators quickly and will have to side mount the mini rad I think as not enough room to front mount one but I think I'll just be able to squeeze my alternator in the front but it's gonna be tight!

Had to grind the block away so I could sit it in close

Looks great bud. Make sure you sort the charging circuit before you run her for long. I wired mine in for a test to make sure all the pulleys etc were lined up nicely and fried the circuits in it :( so had to get another!

Won't it just be a case of plugging it in seeing as it's the original alternator for the engine? Or do I need to change something ?
