Yippee!! After 8 years of ownership I've actually driven it. 10 feet into the garage
Well it's a start
That's awesome! what a way to start the new year!

Had a fair bit of lazyitis concerning the GT of late, but have got a few things done over the last couple of days. All the glass is now in, I still have to put the filler strip in the front though. Head lining turned out OK for a first attempt, sunvisors were a pain to find the screw holes through the headlininer, likewise the rear view mirror
Had to borrow a rivnut gun off a friend for the wing mirrors, great bit of kit, and fitted mirrors, washer bottle cleaned up and plumbed in with new tube. Was given the roof gutter trim off Marc, aka Simpsons Classics, and what a total pain in the arse to fit
Need to fit the grille, oh the sunroof too, dash cards and the bonnet, then off to the mot man.
And no mini is complete without a set of these

Great work, those wheels really suit the colour and fill the arches nicely, are you going for chrome trim ?
I've got black sill and arch trim to go on

Thought we'd put the bonnet and grille on
The grille has to come off again for a bit of a going over but quite pleased how it's looking

I had a couple of hours on the GT today, I rubbed the seam strips down and gave them a coating of applejack, and then got the car on axle stands so we could redo the main power cable, fitted the freshly charged battery and got it clamped up. We readjusted the rear brake shoes while it was up in the air
Tomorrow we can hook the battery up and check all the lights etc. Slowly inching closer to the MOT

I cant get the indicators or brake lights to work , tried allsorts so I'm going to give it to someone who can to sort it.
I fitted the windscreen bead today, then put the wipers on
My kids got me a steering wheel from Bingley for my birthday, so got that on
And then I put the old tax disc back in, so guessing the car was last on the road in 1990
And found out the hard way the sunroof leaks, soggy arse haha
