Back on it today, and then it started peeing it down so had to work in the garage, bit cramped but got a bit done. Got the front end lined up a lot better than last time. We used a rope for a tourniquet to pull the inner wings closer together, messed around with the scuttle to wing joint and got it as good as a couple of rough arses could hope for. Drilled and tek screwed together

 

A bit more tinkering and we'll have it welded on next time

Hello all, £15 Cooper here AKA R Kid on Holy Crap hope this Tinternet doohicky is working

Had another couple of hours on the GT today, Drilled lots of holes for plug welds, weld thru where needed and had another line up. Not a happy bunny though, the gaps still aren't right, but in the wise words of Baldrick we have a cunning plan....

Cant wait to see this welded up, get the gaps as close to and some welds and you can continue you to move it where you want. Doesn't look bad at all from the pics...

I want the gaps as good as I can get them, it's the first thing people see. Next day on it I'll try and get it welded up

You don't want the gaps TOO close, the body flexes and the last thing you want is two panels rubbing together.

Another morning in the garage, a lot more fettling got the bonnet gaps better, and we bent the A panel round the A post thingy, tek screwed it all together and generally pleased with the results

 

I'll have to have a go at sonnik's welding rod trick to sort out the A panel door gaps after the doors are skinned though.

 

 

And then we took it all off again, It will welded next time, I Promise haha
