R kid came round today so we rolled the GT over so it was the right way up and welded the inside floor to inner sill joints ( it's lap welded so needed to do the other side, didn't really fancy welding upside down )
One of the rear inner arches has been removed, but the flange on the boot floor is a little crusty. Has anyone used the boot floor side repair panel that would replace this flange? I think it would solve this issue

Hiya Spraybeater. I've ordered the side repair panels from M Machine today. What's best way to fit them, is it weld the arch to quarter panel then offer up the repair piece to arch then scribe round new piece to mark boot floor for cutting, or fit repair panel first then offer the arch up? If that makes any sense, thanks, JimI used boot floor side repair panels from mMachine, fit round Heritage rear
wheel housings was very good, and not overly expensive, if you only need
to repair sides,
mine came in bare metal so need a coat of etch primer.

I find the best way about these kind of jobs, is to cut the old panels at the known
seams and roughly cut out the parts of the damaged boot floor, offer the wheel housings up
and the other new parts, then clamp/pin/screw and fettle all the parts till you get it to fit as it
should and you are happy with it then scribe where you want to cut the boot floor+ where
you want o plug and seam weld, I then take it all apart again and prep for welding/paint
the parts that are going to be covered up, then put it back together and tack the boot floor
repair panels in and then when you are happy with it Finnish of all the welding.
I am sorry it took so long to reply but I am away for a few weeks and don't get on here
so much. Best of luck Frank

My boot floor side repair panels from m machine turned up, less than 24 hours after ordering them, can't beat that for service. We had a bit of time today so had a bit of a mock up of the driver side arch and closing panel
Had to make a bit of a sun screen so I could see what I was doing, But it was too windy so packed up early, really need a double garage like my neighbours
Got it kinda mocked up, I'll fettle it better next time when it's not so bloody windy, was just a quick clamp up, so lots of cutting and welding ahead, would've been easier to replace the whole boot floor.
Maybe do it on the next car.....
