I cleaned off the old wing of paint and crud, cut it up and tried butt welding it together. Mixed results really, no consistency. Tried a few plug welds and they actually looked good.
I think I'll need a bit more practice before welding anything else on the GT

Plans are afoot to make my garage more user friendly. Seem to spend more time moving stuff around so gonna clear stuff out that's not needed to the loft, then bring it all down as required.
I also need to get my doors hung up in the lean to shed I built at the back of the garage, strip the rear subframe of all the useable parts then get rid.
R kid turned up with another grinder, that's gonna save loads of time changing from cutting discs to flap wheels etc.
Need to sort some better lighting, and most importantly learn how to feckin weld!!!
I have read Ger's build, aka the tart today and feel like I need a kick up the arse!
Hopefully my next post will be more progress photos and no excuses, because I've ran out of them

I watched a few videos on YouTube and now I think I have my wire speed too fast. Next day in the garage I'll try to master itTwo things I found with my dodgy welding was, 1, not enough gas, I upped the gas to max and the welds improved vastly. 2, I tried holding the nozzle really close to what I was welding, to the point where I could hardly see what I was doing, my welds are now, most of the time, bloody brilliantly.
