Thank you very much for this enlightening post :) Yes, my immobilister ist "disabled" by a unit which probably works as you described. I will try to use the 101040. If it works, that will be great as no hassle with the immobilister any more.

My garage suspected the ECU as the stepper motor does work correctly but is not correctly controlled by the ECU. Also the relais of the fuel pump has been tested which as well indicates (according to my garage) that the ECU is faulty

Additionally they discovered that water has entered the unit. So all is pointing at the ECU.

Thank you all for your responses. I will surely post back as soon as I have the result :)

Hi all,

I have now replaced the MNE101150 with the MNE 101040. From what I can say until now: Nothing has change (also meaning its not worse :), so the MNE 101040 seems do the job). To see if the stepper motor is now controlled correctly, I first need to go to the garage and let them re-adjust it.

What definitly did not change is the fuel pump. After switching the ignition to position 2 (without motor running), the fuel pump start and never stops again. After turning ignition off, the fuel pump continues to run for about 15 seconds. According to my garage, the relais is fine. Does anyone have a hint what else could cause that?

Thanks & regards

Well that tends to suggest that the fuel pump has been bodged to run live all the time....
MEMS controls the fuel pump via the MFU (black relay box on the servo bracket) and doesn't run it continuously on the ignition position.
I'm sorry but your garages knowledge about the system seems somewhat lacking if they think this is normal and they are leaving you to diagnose the issue.
Have a look through the pinned threads in this section, there are several PDFs which give the system overview.
Something has been hacked around with wiring wise and diagnosis without the car would be pot luck at best.

My garage does not think its normal. In conrary, they informed me that this indicates a problem with the MEMS. But now I replace the MEMS and the pump is still running about 15 seconds after turning the ignition off. I will try to find the purpose of it. Just a wrong wiring can't be the problem, else the pump would run forever and not only 15 seconds after turning off... I will see :) Thanks for the help.

So time for the update now:

The stepper motor is now adjusted and seems be working ok now. The fuel pump is still behaving strange but this is most probably because there is a wire from the ignition coil

to the gray/brow wire from the relais box which as far as I know is the fuel pump. I will try solder that back to the relais and hope the relais itself is still ok :)

Thanks for all the help.
